The SPP1 monoclonal antibody is produced through a process of immunizing mice with recombinant human osteopontin, isolating B cells from the spleen of the immunized mice, and then fusing these B cells with myeloma cells. The resulting hybridomas are screened for those that produce antibodies specific to SPP1. The selected hybridomas are then cultured in the mouse abdominal cavity, and the SPP1 monoclonal antibodies are harvested and purified using a protein G affinity chromatography from the mouse ascites. The final purified antibody has a high level of purity, over 95%. It can be used for the detection of human osteopontin in ELISA, WB, and IHC applications.
SPP1, also known as osteopontin, mainly regulates cellular activities such as adhesion, migration, and signaling. It plays a critical role in many physiological and pathological processes, including bone metabolism, immune response, inflammation, tissue repair, and tumor progression.
