Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Maintains chromatin CpG methylation that plays a role in genomic imprinting, regulation of embryogenesis and seed viability. Required for proper patterns of CG DNA methylation in dividing cells. Required for MEA promoter methylation in seeds.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The findings reveal that MET1-mediated shoot regeneration is regulated by the cytokinin-induced cell cycle, and provide new insights into the regulation of DNA methylation in shoot regeneration. PMID: 28960381
  2. Long-term stability and epigenetic features differ for individual loci. Our data show that over-expression of MET1, and potentially of other genes encoding epigenetic factors, offers an alternative strategy to identify epigenetic target genes and to create novel epi-alleles PMID: 29466369
  3. MET1 is a thylakoid-associated TPR protein involved in photosystem II supercomplex formation and repair in Arabidopsis PMID: 25587003
  4. Met1 gene expression throughout normal development, particularly in the flower PMID: 25842863
  5. MET1 is a contributor to epigenetic diversity in Arabidopsis. PMID: 25137154
  6. VIM proteins regulate genome-wide epigenetic gene silencing through coordinated modulation of DNA methylation and histone modification status in collaboration with MET1 PMID: 25009302
  7. Genetic studies indicate that the Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2) but not the DNA METHYLTRANSFERASE1 (MET1) is involved in regulating imprinted expression in the embryo. [MET1] PMID: 24339783
  8. MET1 restores body methylation, which is region-specific but random with respect to the affected CG sites, and is moderately although not decisively influenced by transcription. PMID: 22587613
  9. There is a mechanistic link between two major epigenetic pathways involved in histone and DNA methylation in plants by physical interaction of MET1 with the FIS-PRC2 core component MEA. PMID: 23146178
  10. Our results bear interesting similarities with cancer cells, which show global losses of DNA methylation but ectopic hypermethylation of genes previously marked by H3K27m3. PMID: 23209430
  11. An intergenic nucleosome-free crossover hotspot 3a undergoes increased recombination activity in met1. PMID: 22876192
  12. HDA6 and MET1 interact directly and act together to silence transposable elements by modulating DNA methylation, histone acetylation, and histone methylation status. PMID: 21994348
  13. functional loss of key epigenetic genes-including METHYLTRANSFERASE1 (MET1) encoding for DNA methyltransferase, in Arabidopsis PMID: 21876682
  14. The methylation patterns of the MET1 gene in organs of Arabidopsis thaliana were studied. PMID: 21542302
  15. Maternal and paternal genomes play distinct roles in the regulation of seed size in Arabidopsis, as determined by mutation status of DDM1 and MET1. PMID: 17012404
  16. Continuous MET1 activity in dividing cells is essential for proper patterns of CG DNA methylation & development. PMID: 18820427
