Venom nerve growth factor

The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. It stimulates division and differentiation of sympathetic and embryonic sensory neurons as well as basal forebrain cholinergic neurons in the brain. Its relevance in the snake venom is not clear. However, it has been shown to inhibit metalloproteinase-dependent proteolysis of platelet glycoprotein Ib alpha, suggesting a metalloproteinase inhibition to prevent metalloprotease autodigestion and/or protection against prey proteases (By similarity).
