Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Functions as a DNA-binding transcription factor. Promotes transformation, host cell growth, host cell-cycle progression through G1/S phase, and possesses antiapoptotic activity. Forms functional heterodimers with host JUN. These heterodimers bind with high affinity DNA sequences called MEQ-responsive elements MERE I (TGACA/GTCA), while MEQ homodimers bind a second type of sites termed MERE II (ACACA). Both homo and heterodimerization of MEQ are required for oncogenesis.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Pathway analysis indicated that Meq transcriptionally regulates many genes that are part of several signaling pathways. PMID: 23740999
  2. Gallid herpesvirus 2 viral oncoprotein Meq binds to this promoter, thereby transactivating Gallus gallus-miR-21 expression. PMID: 23055556
  3. Meq contained an open reading frame of 1020 nucleotides, which encoded a 339 amino acid peptide. PMID: 21789633
  4. These results suggest that the distinct diversity of and point mutations in the Meq proteins are responsible for differences in transactivation activity among Marek's disease virus strains. PMID: 21503681
  5. Meq gene played an important role not only in tumor formation but also in inducing immunosuppressive effects in Marek's disease virus-infected chickens. PMID: 21205328
  6. Both Meq homodimers and heterodimers contribute to transformation of chicken lymphocytes. PMID: 20137800
  7. Multiple bands of MEQ are observed and characterized in pooled feather tip samples from 3- and 5-week-old chickens at 21 unvaccinated and 22 vaccinated Korean broiler farms. PMID: 17516161
  8. These data provide the first in vivo evidence that Meq homodimers are not sufficient for MDV-induced transformation. PMID: 18971275
  9. Meq proteins were capable of transforming Rat-2 and NIH3T3 cells. PMID: 19189855
  10. The interaction of Meq and Hsp70 is significant in Marek's disease virus oncogenesis. PMID: 19494050
  11. Data suggest that the leucine zipper is necessary for the oncogenic activity of Meq and/or the efficient establishment of long-term MDV latency in T cells. PMID: 19692466
