Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Component of a cell-surface receptor complex that mediates cell-cell interactions between muscle precursor cells. Promotes differentiation of myogenic cells. Required for response to NTN3 and activation of NFATC3.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Cdon deficiency causes hyperactive Wnt signaling leading to aberrant intercellular coupling and cardiac fibrosis. PMID: 28154134
  2. Mutation in the Cdon gene is associated with congenital nevus development. PMID: 27155367
  3. Study assessed the role of the Shh receptor Cdon in the development of ventral tegmental area and substantia nigra pars compacta dopamine neurons. Results suggest that Cdon plays an important role in the encoding of diversity within the population of dopamine neurons of the midbrain, influencing both the development of the mesocortical dopamine pathway as well as behavioral outputs that involve this neural circuitry. PMID: 27419218
  4. Results suggest that a promyogenic cell adhesion molecule Cdo signaling is critical for Inward rectifier potassium channel Kir2.1 activities in the induction of myogenic differentiation. PMID: 27380411
  5. PKN2 formed complexes with Cdo, APPL1 and AKT via its C-terminal region and this interaction appeared to be important for induction of AKT activity as well as myoblast differentiation. PMID: 27763641
  6. that Cdon participates in oligodendrocyte differentiation and myelination, most likely in the initial stages of development PMID: 26988125
  7. Rescue of holoprosencephaly in fetal alcohol-exposed Cdon mutant mice by reduced gene dosage of Ptch1. PMID: 24244464
  8. Cx43 physically interacts with Cdo to form dynamic complexes during myoblast differentiation PMID: 22930637
  9. Gas1 cooperates with Cdo and promotes myogenic differentiation via activation of p38MAPK PMID: 21820049
  10. CDON must associate with both ligand and other hedgehog-receptor components, particularly PTCH1, for signaling to occur and disruption of the latter interactions is a mechanism of holoprosencephaly. PMID: 21802063
  11. the Integrin/FAK signaling pathway regulates the expression of the promyogenic factors, Cdo, MyoD and Cdc42 which are required for myoblast differentiation PMID: 21397010
  12. Cdo;Boc double mutants on a largely Cdo-resistant genetic background have lobar holoprosencephaly. PMID: 21183473
  13. The promyogenic function of Cdo involves a coordinated activation of p38MAPK and Akt via association with scaffold proteins, JLP and Bnip-2 for p38MAPK and APPL1 for Akt. PMID: 20484574
  14. Hedgehog proteins interact with cell adhesion molecule, down-regulated by oncogenes (CDO) and brother of CDO (BOC) in a conserved manner PMID: 20519495
  15. CDO has a role in regulation of myogenic bHLH factors and skeletal muscle development PMID: 15572127
  16. CdO promotes neuronal differentiation. PMID: 16648472
  17. Functions a component of multiprotein cell surface complex to promote myogenesis. PMID: 17074887
  18. Gas1 and Cdo cooperate to promote Shh signaling during neural tube patterning, craniofacial, and vertebral development PMID: 17504941
  19. Cdon expression increases in subcutaneous white adipose tissue and decreases in intra-abdominal epididymal white adipocytes in obese mice. PMID: 18721461
  20. a conserved intracellular signaling mechanism initiated by Cdo regulates the activities of tissue-specific bHLH factors and therefore functions as a key regulator of differentiation of several different cell lineages PMID: 19244314
  21. The findings show that Cdo is required for normal eye development and is required for normal expression of patterning genes in both the ventral and dorsal domains. PMID: 19754878
