Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Transcription factor that is necessary for placental development. Involved in the control of expression of placental growth factor (PGF) and other placenta-specific genes. Binds to the trophoblast-specific element 2 (TSE2) of the aromatase gene enhancer. Binds to the SYDE1 promoter. Has a central role in mediating the differentiation of trophoblast cells along both the villous and extravillous pathways in placental development.
Gene References into Functions
  1. GCM1-directed villous trophoblast differentiation is repressed by DREAM PMID: 23300953
  2. Data show that the GCM1/syncytin-B pathway is significantly downregulated in the placenta of BCL9L-deficient mice and that the fusion and differentiation of ST-II cells are blocked. PMID: 22109522
  3. as in mice, fetoplacental vascularity increased when GCM1 protein expression decreased (R(2)=-0.45; P<0.05). PMID: 22275534
  4. Gcm1 (glial cells missing 1) are involved in the epigenetic regulation of Hes5 transcription by DNA demethylation independently of DNA replication. PMID: 21765423
  5. studies identify a novel function of p45NF-E2 during placental development: in trophoblast cells, p45NF-E2 represses Gcm1 and syncytiotrophoblast formation via acetylation PMID: 21558372
  6. Gcm1 expression defines three stages of chorio-allantoic interaction during placental development PMID: 12049764
  7. Brief ectopic expression of Gcm1 in mouse embryonic tail bud induces failure of the neural tube to close (spina bifida) and multiple neural tubes (diastematomyelia). PMID: 12135932
  8. GCM domain as a new type of Zn-coordinating, sequence-specific DNA-binding domain. PMID: 12297286
  9. mGCMa expression is primarily postnatal, arguing for a role in organ function rather than organ development PMID: 12351183
  10. the shaping of the maternal blood spaces within the labyrinth was dependent on chorioallantoic morphogenesis and therefore disrupted in Gcm1 mutants PMID: 12376109
  11. Data describe the crystal structure of the glial cell missing (GCM) domain from murine GCMa bound to its octameric DNA target site at 2.85 A resolution. PMID: 12682016
  12. Regulation of subcellular localization has important implications for GCMa/Gcm-1 function. PMID: 14572643
  13. Gcm1 promotes cell cycle exit and restriction towards the syncytiotrophoblast cell fate. PMID: 15196947
  14. Pitx proteins influence GCMa-dependent promoter activation in a cell-specific manner PMID: 15385555
  15. Identification of integrin-alpha4, Rb1, and syncytin a as murine placental target genes of the transcription factor GCMa/Gcm1 PMID: 18167345
