Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Sequence-specific transcription factor which is part of a developmental regulatory system that provides cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis. Also binds to its own promoter. Binds specifically to the motif 5'-CYYNATTA[TG]Y-3'.
Gene References into Functions
  1. study implicates HOXA5 as a chromosome 7-associated gene-level locus that promotes selection for gain of whole chromosome 7 and an aggressive phenotype in glioblastoma. PMID: 29632085
  2. Hoxa5 expression in the mesenchyme and phrenic motor neurons controls distinct aspects of respiratory development. PMID: 29074702
  3. Hoxa5 increased adipocytes differentiation and mitochondrial biogenesis in adipocytes in vitro. CEBPbeta was determined a transcription factor of Hoxa5 and inhibited methylation level of Hoxa5 by combining on the promoter of Hoxa5. PMID: 29439250
  4. Hoxa5 possesses tissue-specific functions that differentially contribute to the morphogenesis of the respiratory tract. PMID: 28827394
  5. mapping analysis allowed us to build hypotheses regarding HOXA5 functions in the nervous system after birth, such as a potential role in the establishment and refinement/plasticity of precerebellar circuits during postnatal and adult life PMID: 27650319
  6. Methylation profiling of HoxA5 gene promoter shows higher methylation in adult as compared to fetus in various somatic tissues of mouse being highest in adult spleen. However q-PCR results show higher expression during fetal stages being highest in fetal intestine followed by brain, liver and spleen. These results clearly indicate a strict correlation between DNA methylation and tissue-specific gene expression. PMID: 28363633
  7. In colon cancer, HOXA5 is downregulated, and its re-expression induces loss of the cancer stem cell phenotype, preventing tumor progression and metastasis. PMID: 26678341
  8. HoxA5 represents a novel molecule for restricting pathological and tumorigenic angiogenesis. PMID: 25821967
  9. Enforced expression of Hoxa5 in haematopoietic stem cells leads to aberrant erythropoiesis in vivo. PMID: 25590986
  10. YY1 acts as a transcriptional activator of Hoxa5 gene expression in mouse organogenesis. PMID: 24705708
  11. Hoxa5 and Hoxb5 paralog genes share some functions during lung morphogenesis; Hoxa5 plays a predominant role. PMID: 23585229
  12. Two Hox genes, Hoxa5 and Hoxc5, control diverse aspects of phrenic motor column development. PMID: 23103965
  13. Hoxa5, a stroma-specific gene, plays a significant role in ovarian biology and may be involved in ovarian cancer predisposition PMID: 22315454
  14. Hoxa5 larger transcripts may participate in the control of Hox gene expression. PMID: 20485555

  16. involved in formation of pectoral girdle PMID: 11900462
  17. findings provide insight into the molecular controls of patterning events of the stomach, supporting the notion that Hoxa5 acts in regionalization and specification of the stomach by setting up the proper domains of expression of signaling molecules PMID: 12163410
  18. Hoxa5 has a role in thyroid morphology and transient hypothyroidism PMID: 12815622
  19. Using HOXA5-specific antibodies, show this expression pattern is ectopic as the endogenous protein is expressed only in the ventral spinal cord at this anterio-posterior level. And also displays forelimb-specific motor and sensory defects. PMID: 15158076
  20. When exposed to ventilatory stimuli, Hoxa5(-/-) mice maintain the higher minute ventilation by adapting the tidal volume and/or the breathing frequency. PMID: 15295088
  21. Increased DNA methylation contributes to the downregulation of HoxA5, which might facilitate the clonal expansion of increasingly aberrant cells during promotion. PMID: 15352125
  22. HOXA5 protein pattern is consistent with its proposed role in positional specification in mesodermal structures, as well as in the embryonic neuraxis. PMID: 15922675
