Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
This is a receptor for interleukin-21.
Gene References into Functions
  1. In mice, IL-21:IL-21R interactions influence the phenotype of T follicular cells, reducing the expression of CXCR4 and inhibiting the expansion of Tfr cells after T-cell-dependent immunization. The negative effect of IL-21 on Tfr cells in mice is cell intrinsic and associated with decreased expression of the high affinity IL-2 receptor (CD25). PMID: 28303891
  2. IL21R signal my contribute to anti-adenine nucleotide translocator antibody production and expansion of B cells in viral myocarditis PMID: 28550395
  3. this study shows that IL-21R signaling is essential for the optimal control of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection PMID: 28855309
  4. natural genetic variation in murine Il21r influences neuronal cell viability after ischemia by modulating receptor function and downstream signal transduction PMID: 27400126
  5. IL-21 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of SSc as a Th17 effector cytokine, and IL-21 may induce the differentiation of Th17 cells in the BLM-induced systemic sclerosis mouse model via Il21R. PMID: 25545680
  6. Gene expression analyses of angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL), showed that essentially all cases expressed elevated levels of transcripts for IL21, IL21R, and a series of genes associated with TFH cell development and function. PMID: 26363366
  7. IIl21r deletion reduced spontaneous EAE associated with defective Th17 cell generation. IL-21R deficiency limited IL-23R expression on Th17 cells and inhibited expression of key molecules for pathogenic Th17 cell generation. PMID: 26413871
  8. our data demonstrate the novel finding that the IL-21R plays a critical role in regulating innate immune responses against HSV-2 infection. PMID: 24358128
  9. During experimental arthritis, IL-21R deficiency protected against severe inflammation and joint destruction. This was accompanied by suppressed serum IgG1 levels and antigen-specific T cell responses. PMID: 24757141
  10. in the absence of IL-21/IL-21R signaling, Il2(-/-) mice retained a deficiency in Tregs yet exhibited a reduced and delayed inflammatory disease which was reflected in reduced pancreatitis and hemolytic anemia PMID: 24446516
  11. IL-21R expression on donor CD4+ T cells is essential for sustaining T cell number and help for B cells, resulting in more severe lupus-like renal disease, but it does not alter the balance of T helper (Th)17 cells and regulatory T cells. PMID: 22723520
  12. IL-21R controls both antigen transport by DCs and the crucial beacon function of CD4(+) cells for autoreactive CD8(+) cells to reach the islets. PMID: 22579473
  13. Data indicate that CD8KO recipients given either C57Bl/6 or IL-21RKO CD8+ cells showed the recipients given C57Bl/6 CD8+ cells with significantly greater myocarditis than recipients of IL-21RKO CD8+ cells. PMID: 22465422
  14. IL-21 and IL-2 can have overlapping roles in promoting conventional T-cell responses but play distinct roles in controlling Treg homeostasis and function. PMID: 22442347
  15. study demonstrated T-extrafollicular helper cells are dependent on IL-21R for their generation; study highlighted that IL-21R signaling is necessary for the spontaneous accumulation of multiple B and T cell effector populations in MRLlpr mice PMID: 22231702
  16. IL-21R KO and wild-type donor T cells showed equivalent alloactivation, but IL-21R KO T cells showed decreased infiltration and inflammatory cytokine production within the mesenteric lymph nodes. PMID: 21596854
  17. Following secondary immunization of IL-21 receptor knockout mice, IgG antibody responses to hapten-onjugated chicken gamma globulin are significantly impaired, identifying the IL-21 pathway as a critical component of the memory B cell response. PMID: 21169545
  18. Recipients of donor CD4-positive T cells lacking IL-21 receptor exhibit diminished graft-versus-host disease symptoms, with reduced inflammatory cell infiltration into the liver and intestine, leading to prolonged survival PMID: 20574002
  19. Germinal center reactions and B cell responses induced by immunization with virus-like particles are strongly reduced in both global and B cell-specific IL-21 receptor-deficient mice. PMID: 20368279
  20. Increased IL-21 and IL-21R expression may be involved in the development of experimental autoimmune uveitis, possibly by promoting IL-17 secretion. PMID: 20057909
  21. The common gamma chain (gamma c) is a required signaling component and supports IL-21-induced cell proliferation via JAK3 PMID: 12093291
  22. IL-21 plays a crucial role in supporting polarized Th2 responses in vivo, while appearing superfluous for Th1 and Th17 responses PMID: 17077330
  23. provides preliminary evidence for a role of IL-21 in modulating the severity of systemic lupus erythematosus in BXSB-Yaa mice PMID: 17911475
  24. data demonstrate that the absence of IL-21 or IL-21R does not critically influence FoxP3+ Treg and Th17 cell differentiation, organ recruitment, and associated inflammatory diseases in models of CNS and heart autoimmunity PMID: 18546146
  25. These results suggest an important role for IL-21R in the mobilization of skin dendritic cells to draining lymph nodes and the subsequent allergic response to epicutaneously introduced antigen. PMID: 19075398
  26. IL-21 arising from an abnormal population of CD4 T cells is thus central to the development of SLE, and, more generally, could play an important role in human SLE and related autoimmune disorders. PMID: 19164519
  27. endogenous IL-21/IL-21R is not required for NK, NKT, and CD8(+) T cell-mediated tumor immunity PMID: 19915059
