Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Insulin-regulated facilitative hexose transporter that mediates the transport of glucose and fructose. Also able to mediate the transport of dehydroascorbate.
Gene References into Functions
  1. these data suggest that cytoplasmic trehalose access is carrier-mediated, and that GLUT8 is a mammalian trehalose transporter required for hepatocyte trehalose-induced autophagy and signal transduction. PMID: 27922102
  2. The findings support the hypothesis of the transport of intravascularGLUT8 through the epithelial cells of the choroid plexus and the ependymal cells. PMID: 27160096
  3. Resistance to high-fructose diet-induced glucose intolerance and dyslipidemia concomitant with enhanced oxygen consumption and thermogenesis in GLUT8-deficient male mice. PMID: 24030250
  4. GLUT8 is thus essential for hepatocyte fructose transport and fructose-induced macrosteatosis. PMID: 24519932
  5. Ovarian transplantation studies confirm that lack of SLC2A8 affects both the embryo and the implantation processes. This phenotype leads to decreased litter size, and smaller pups at weaning. PMID: 22649075
  6. Report GLUT8 expression in normal left ventricle and in models of dilated and hypertophic cardiomyopathy. PMID: 22681646
  7. Data conclude that GLUT8 regulates enterocyte fructose transport by regulating GLUT12, and that disrupted GLUT8 function has deleterious long-term metabolic sequelae. PMID: 22822162
  8. increased in regenerating motoneurons on Day 8 post-lesion PMID: 21740425
  9. XXX amino acids, specifically the position of a proline -2 from the dileucine residues, influence the affinity of APs for GLUT8 and GLUT12 PMID: 21067453
  10. genomic organization, promoter region, and regulation of expression in 3T3-L1 cells by glucose PMID: 11689004
  11. The mRNA synthesis of this carrier protein during the maturation of the mouse testis coincides with the appearance of mature spermatozoa. PMID: 11845330
  12. data suggest that GLUT8 expression and translocation in response to insulin are critical for blastocyst survival PMID: 12021054
  13. Up-regulation of GLUT8 protein in both models of diabetes; only in streptozotocin diabetic livers was GLUT8 zonation altered. Up-regulation of GLUT8 protein in both models of diabetes; only in streptozotocin diabetic livers was GLUT8 zonation altered. PMID: 12697674
  14. data demonstrate the lack of syntaxin 4 expression results in abnormal movement of GLUT8 in response to insulin PMID: 12829803
  15. The tissue distribution and regulation of glucose transporter GLUT8 were studied in normal, knockout, and diabetic mice. PMID: 15741607
  16. In cells normally expressing it, GLUT8 was associated with a specific intracellular compartment in which it may play an as-yet-uncharacterized role. PMID: 16109784
  17. Absence of GLUT8 expression in the mouse caused complex but mild physiological alterations. PMID: 16705176
  18. Glucose uptake via GLUT8 likely affects normal spermatogenesis, steroidogenesis, and sperm function in the mouse. PMID: 17913964
  19. GLUT8 deficiency was associated with lower ATP levels, a reduced mitochondrial membrane potential and a significant reduction of sperm motility PMID: 18428038
  20. Behavioral alterations of glut8 deficient mice are due to dysfunctions in neuronal processes as a consequence of defects in the glucose metabolism. PMID: 18461434
  21. GLUT8 and GLUT12 exhibit dramatic differences in trafficking from the plasma membrane PMID: 19076329
  22. Results describe the expression of GLUT8 in mouse intestine, and identify three transcriptional variants in mouse intestine (mGLUT-SP1, mGLUT8-SP2, and mGLUT8-SP3) produced by the deletion of one, two, and four exons, respectively. PMID: 19229868
  23. demonstrate that endogenous GLUT8 is localized in a late endosomal/lysosomal compartment of spermatocytes and spermatids, and that the adaptor complexes AP1 and AP2, but not AP3 or AP4, interact with its N-terminal intracellular domain PMID: 19523115
