Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Possibly involved in structural functions as organizing other membrane components or in targeting the vesicles to the plasma membrane. Involved in the regulation of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Exendin-4 attenuates blast traumatic brain injury induced cognitive impairments, losses of synaptophysin and in vitro TBI-induced hippocampal cellular degeneration. PMID: 28623327
  2. PSD95 and SYP may originate from the different sites, but they are closely related to the formation and maturation of synapse. PMID: 27916092
  3. The results suggest that the neurological mechanisms of chronic stress on cognition might be associated with a decrease in hippocampal SYN and PSD95 expression, which is critical for structural synaptic plasticity. PMID: 27562628
  4. APP, tau, and synaptophysin were elevated in in the medial preoptic area in both the B6D2F1 and BXB1 matters, suggesting a potential genetic mechanism for inheritance of steroid-independent male sexual behavior. PMID: 26940434
  5. Syp1 clears Syb2 from the presynaptic active zone to prevent short-term depression. PMID: 26854222
  6. The balance between synaptophysin and sybII levels is critical for the correct targeting of sybII to synaptic vesicles and suggests that alterations in synaptophysin levels might affect the localisation of sybII and subsequent presynaptic performance. PMID: 26871701
  7. The high expression of P2X7 receptor and low expression of synaptophysin in the hippocampus of pups may contribute to the neurotoxicity associated with maternal Pb exposure. PMID: 25542768
  8. Trimethyltin decreased synaptophysin but not GAP-43 expression in the mouse hippocampus. PMID: 24001577
  9. These studies suggest that the efficient retrieval of sybII by synaptophysin may be key to maintaining synaptic health and perturbation of this event may contribute to the pathogenesis underlying neurodevelopmental disorders. PMID: 23966691
  10. Data indicate that double transgenic (Tg-FDD-Tau) mice showed a significant decrease in synaptophysin levels. PMID: 23418567
  11. Melatonin can reduce the expression levels of NF-kappaB p65 and synaptophysin in the brain tissue to protect the brain and slow down the aging process. PMID: 22200709
  12. Glycosylation is dispensable for sorting of synaptotagmin 1 but is critical for targeting of SV2 and synaptophysin to recycling synaptic vesicles. PMID: 22908222
  13. Synaptophysin controls synaptobrevin (sybII)traffic in nerve terminals during synaptic vesicle (SV) endocytosis, an interaction that may act as an adjustable regulator of SV retrieval efficiency. PMID: 21957264
  14. Cognitive improvement of schizophrenic histopathology may be related to a restoration of synaptophysin and/or Arc levels in the frontal cortex. PMID: 20817066
  15. synaptophysin regulates at least two phases of endocytosis to ensure vesicle availability during and after sustained neuronal activity. PMID: 21658579
  16. Data demonstrate that protein expression of synaptophysin decreases age-dependently in senescence-accelerated mouse/prone 8 mice and increases in a learning- and memory-dependent manner in KM mice. PMID: 21295146
  17. The alteration of neuronal remodeling proteins in the hippocampus may be an underlying mechanism of venlafaxine in treating post-stroke depression. PMID: 20651837
