Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells.
Gene References into Functions
  1. considering the steroid hormone imbalance in late life period, as well as, the role of this imbalance in prostatic lesion development and progression, the aim of the study herein was to characterize and correlate prolactin, EGFR, alpha-actin and vimentin immunoreactivity in the prostatic epithelium and stroma of elderly rats, following steroid hormone imbalance. PMID: 27021728
  2. Data suggest that the expression of actin alpha 2 smooth muscle (alpha-SMA) plays certain roles in the neuroma-associated pain, either as a direct cause of pain or as an indirect marker of existence of local mechanical stimuli. PMID: 27021914
  3. Expressions of M2R and M3R mRNA were increased in urothelial cells and decreased in detrusor muscles following chronic cystitis. PMID: 25681120
  4. Smooth muscle alpha-actin is present in the cervix of virgin, 11 day, and 20 day pregnant rats. PMID: 25108144
  5. Data suggest that the myosin-II mediated drebrin A-actin exodus might be an initial event in chemical long-term potentiation (LTP) induction, triggering actin polymerization and spine enlargement. PMID: 24465547
  6. Acta2 is important for myofibroblast cells motility, contraction and regulation of signaling processes during wound healing. PMID: 24204762
  7. Data from several animal models suggest that up-regulation of expression of Tgfb1 (transforming growth factor beta 1) and Acta2 in proximal tubular cells is key to development of renal tubular fibrosis in chronic kidney disease/renal hypertension. PMID: 24601883
  8. Smooth muscle actin expression increased during lung injury induced by hyperoxia, and could play an important role in pulmonary fibrosis remodeling. PMID: 23040780
  9. Smooth muscle alpha-actin was increased on day 9 of bleomycin induced pulmonary fibrosis in rats, and is involved in the mechanism of N-acetylcysteine alleviation of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. PMID: 23006535
  10. novel populations of alphaSMA+ precursors of pericytes are born on the subventricular zones then migrate into the peri-infarct region PMID: 22805872
  11. Tendon cells are capable of actively contracting lax tendons through an alpha smooth muscle actin-based mechanism. PMID: 22517354
