Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
RNA-binding protein required for the microtubule-dependent transport of neuronal RNA from the cell body to the dendrite. As protein synthesis occurs within the dendrite, the localization of specific mRNAs to dendrites may be a prerequisite for neurite outgrowth and plasticity at sites distant from the cell body.
Gene References into Functions
  1. RBP Stau2 plays an important role in the regulation of specific aspects of hippocampal synaptic plasticity and learning and memory. PMID: 29149906
  2. results identify the retained intron as a critical element in recruiting Stau2, which then allows for the localization of Calm3L mRNA to distal dendrites PMID: 28765142
  3. Here, we describe a new role for the ATP-dependent helicase UPF1 and its interaction with the RNA localization protein STAU2 in mediating mGluR-LTD through the regulation of mRNA translation complexes stalled at the level of elongation and/or termination. PMID: 28821679
  4. Stau2 stabilizes expression of Rgs4 mRNA via its 3' UTR in hippocampal neurons. PMID: 24360961
  5. Stau2 isoforms expressed in the developing eye of chicken embryo prevent microphthalmia. PMID: 22940085
  6. Recruitment of Stau2 alone or in combination with Upf1 differentially affects the fate of mRNAs. PMID: 22087843
  7. These results represent an additional and important step in the characterization of Staufen2- mediated neuronal functions in rat brains. PMID: 20510018
  8. provide new tools to study and understand how Stau2-containing mRNPs are transported, translationally silenced during transport and/or locally expressed according to cell needs PMID: 20596529
  9. Data show that an isoform of Staufen2, Stau2(59), is exported from the nucleus by two distinct pathways, one of which is RNA-binding domain 3-mediated and the other of which is CRM1 (exportin 1)-dependent. PMID: 15364930
  10. A pool of Staufen2 is present in neuronal nuclei and colocalizes to a large degree with p62 and partly with Tap, Y14, and Mago. PMID: 15970630
  11. Data suggest an important role for Staufen2 in the formation and maintenance of dendritic spines of hippocampal neurons. PMID: 16418534
  12. Overall, these results suggest that dendritic mRNA transport is mediated via the Staufen2 and kinesin motor proteins and might be modulated by the neuronal activity and mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. PMID: 17587311
  13. These results suggest that the MAPK pathway could modulate dendritic mRNA transport through its interaction with Staufen2. PMID: 18492489

Subcellular Location
Nucleus, nucleolus. Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Endoplasmic reticulum. Note=Shuttles between the nucleolus, nucleus and the cytoplasm. Nuclear export of isoform 1 is independent of XPO1/CRM1 and may require the exportin XPO5. Nuclear export of isoform 2 and isoform 3 can occur by both XPO1/CRM1-dependent and XPO1/CRM1-independent pathways. Found in large cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein (RNP) granules which are present in the actin rich regions of myelinating processes and associated with microtubules, polysomes and the endoplasmic reticulum. Also recruited to stress granules (SGs) upon inhibition of translation or oxidative stress. These structures are thought to harbor housekeeping mRNAs when translation is aborted.
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in both somata and dendrites of hippocampal neurons.
