Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Protects the hemoglobin in erythrocytes from oxidative breakdown. In platelets, plays a crucial role of glutathione peroxidase in the arachidonic acid metabolism.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Knockdown of nNOS or GPx1 was specific and had broad effects on downstream genes, though it only modestly ameliorated traumatic brain injury-induced working memory deficits, despite widespread genomic changes. PMID: 29016640
  2. The glutathione peroxidase activity and p110-PI3K/Thr308-Akt are both modulated in the same way by oxygen. PMID: 24401635
  3. VPO1 plays an important role in senescence of endothelial cells and endothelial dysfunction by induction of oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction in type 2 diabetic rats. PMID: 26142204
  4. glutathione peroxidase 1 immunoreactivity was diffusely cytoplasmic in some of the hepatocytes PMID: 24867493
  5. Dietary Se-enriched A. bisporus protected against increase in ileum permeability and up-regulated GPx-1 and GPx-2 expression, selenoenzymes relevant to mitigating oxidative stress. PMID: 24962481
  6. It represents the pivotal antioxidant enzyme in vascular endothelium and exerts a protective effect against the presence of coronary artery disease PMID: 24389817
  7. data collectively indicate that GDNF is capable of inducing anti-oxidant activities of intra-cellular GPX-1 and that growth-promoting potential of GDNF and anti-oxidant properties of GPX-1 can, in concert, maximize survival of dopaminergic neurons. PMID: 23472740
  8. Upon selenium fluctuation, the modulation of UGA recoding efficiency depends on the nature of the SECIS, with Gpx1 being more sensitive than Gpx4. PMID: 22614831
  9. GPx levels in the cortex and hippocampus were increased in OLETF rats compared with LETO rats, with an inverse correlation between GPx in the hippocampus and learning score. PMID: 22981416
  10. The glutathione peroxidase represents an important part of the antioxidant defense system. PMID: 20524817
  11. expression of glutathione peroxidase 1 and glutathione reductase via GSH did not appear to coordinate with development, tissue localization or under oxidative stress PMID: 12516874
  12. excess amounts of PLOOH are efficiently eliminated through the hydrolysis by PLA2, and the subsequent reduction of FA hydroperoxide by GPx is the critical step for complete detoxification of oxidized phospholipids in the stomach PMID: 12934674
  13. Over-expression gpx1 genes in primary hippocampal or cortical cultures resulted in increased enzymatic activity of the cognate protein. PMID: 14713308
  14. Gxp1 levels was increased indicating that a reduction in oxidative damage protection may be responsible for accelerated telomere shortening over time, resulting in increased cellular senescence, loss of renal function, and death in male rats. PMID: 16189290
  15. Novel sites of Gpx1 expression were observed in colon lymphatic tissue. PMID: 16229841
  16. Our results suggest that impairment of the GPx (including glutathione)-mediated antioxidant system contributed to epileptogenesis in GEPR-9s. PMID: 18226427
  17. docosahexaenoic acid sensitizes breast cancer cells to anthracyclines through loss of glutathione peroxidase (GPx1) response PMID: 18267129
  18. Selenium requirements are higher for glutathione peroxidase-1 mRNA than gpx1 activity in rat testis. PMID: 19234057
  19. red blood cell glutathione peroxidase (Gpx1) activity in old female rats. PMID: 19398061
  20. Whole blood selenoprotein mRNA levels can be used as molecular biomarkers for assessing Selenium requirements. PMID: 19855070
