Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Can degrade fibrillar type I, II, and III collagens.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Simvastatin significantly blocked cigarette smoke induced up-regulation of MMP-8 and -9, but had no effect on MMP-12, TIMP-1 and TIMP-4 expression in rat COPD model. PMID: 28260878
  2. Study showed that E. faecalis strains ATCC 29212 or ATCC 700802 could induce local IL-1beta and MMP-8 expression in persistent apical periodontitis; compared with noncytolytic E. faecalis, cytolytic E. faecalis may cause more severe local inflammation and tissue destruction PMID: 26055433
  3. hydrogen sulfide downregulated protein and mRNA expression of MMP-8, MMP-13, and TIMP-1 in rats with volume overload; this effect might be involved in the amelioration of ventricular structural remodeling and cardiac function PMID: 23974514
  4. MMP-8, MMP-9 and MMP-12 gene and protein expression increased profoundly (p < 0.01), and MMP-13 mRNA and MMP-2 mRNA and protein modestly (p < 0.001) in the anastomoses. PMID: 23619615
  5. Elevated levels of MMP-8 in CSF were found following spinal cord injury. PMID: 22687332
  6. Mmp8/14 expression seem important in the tissue destruction during periodontal disease in type 1 diabetes. PMID: 21826658
  7. These results demonstrate that superphysiologic levels of the proteinase MMP-8 can result in decreased collagen and lead to impaired wound healing. PMID: 21875735
  8. MMP-8 is involved in sensory nerve growth within the interstitial CoL matrix through modulation by the axonal guidance molecules and/or extracellular matrix components PMID: 21697883
  9. related to the development of periradicular lesions PMID: 21447140
  10. Venous pressure elevation (induced by acute venular occlusion) increases MMP-1, MMP-9, and MMP-8 enzymatic activity which may contribute to inflammation and endothelial dysfunction associated with this disease by influencing critical surface receptors. PMID: 20923679
  11. MMP-2 and MMP-8 cooperate to degrade the cervical fibers, leading to cervical softening and expansion. PMID: 19923067
  12. Ibuprofen upregulates the expressions of collagenases including MMP-1, -8, -9, and -13. PMID: 19847888
  13. These results indicate that bradykinin at reperfusion triggers its cardioprotective signalling pathway through MMP-8-dependent transactivation of the EGFR. PMID: 19583703
  14. Results suggest that matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-13, but not MMP-8 or TIMP-1, plays an important role in estrogen deficiency-induced bone loss. PMID: 15609084
  15. secretion of MMP-8 by neutrophils may play a critical role in resolving the fibrotic scar generated during cholestasis PMID: 16153442
  16. Osteoblasts and osteocytes may play a role in the remodeling of extracellular matrices with MMP8 during healing of a defect in bone. PMID: 18615687
  17. Expression of metalloproteinase-8 and -13 on articular cartilage is increased in a rat immobilized knee model. PMID: 19346731
