Vaccinia virus (strain Western Reserve) (VACV) (Vaccinia virus (strain WR))
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
Plays a role in the inhibition of multiple cellular antiviral responses activated by dsRNA, such as inhibition of PKR activation, apoptosis, and IFN-mediated antiviral activities. Blocks also the phosphorylation and subsequent activation of IRF3 and IRF7 kinases that are required for interferon-alpha gene expression. Inhibits NF-kappa-B activation and the ubiquitin-like protein ISG15, which is an early antiviral protein. The binding with host ISG15 subsequently blocks host ISGylation.
