Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
and FAQs
Protein FAQs
Storage Condition Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Plasma membrane reductase that uses cytoplasmic ascorbate as an electron donor to reduce extracellular Fe(3+) into Fe(2+). Probably functions in dietary iron absorption at the brush border of duodenal enterocytes by producing Fe(2+), the divalent form of iron that can be transported into enterocytes. It is also able to reduce extracellular monodehydro-L-ascorbate and may be involved in extracellular ascorbate regeneration by erythrocytes in blood. May also act as a ferrireductase in airway epithelial cells. May also function as a cupric transmembrane reductase.
Gene References into Functions
  1. It was concluded that Cybrd1 is the primary iron-regulated duodenal ferric reductase in the gut and that it is necessary for optimal iron metabolism. PMID: 22990466
  2. Increased iron absorption reported in early hypoxia could be accounted for in part by the enhancement of Dcytb expression by Hif-2alpha in the duodenum. PMID: 21359624
  3. Regulatory defects in liver and intestine implicate abnormal hepcidin and Cybrd1 expression in hemochromatosis. PMID: 12704390
  4. Dcytb, DMT1, Ireg1 and transferrin receptor 1 have roles in iron transport and hemolysis PMID: 15469906
  5. Iron absorption genes(Dcytb,IREG1,DMT1)were expressed at lower levels in mouse caecum and colon than in the duodenum. They are regulated by body iron requirements. PMID: 15764147
  6. loss of Cybrd1 had little or no impact on body iron stores, even in the setting of iron deficiency; other mechanisms must be available for the reduction of dietary iron PMID: 15961514
  7. cybrd1 is nonessential in mice PMID: 16326980
  8. Dcytb plays a physiological role in both iron and copper uptake, through divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1) and copper transporter 1, respectively. PMID: 18498772
