Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Acts as a negative regulator of insulin receptor (IR) signaling and is involved in insulin-induced glucose metabolism mainly through direct dephosphorylation and inactivation of IR in hepatocytes and liver. Plays a critical role in signaling transduction pathways and phosphoprotein network topology in red blood cells. May play a role in osteoclast formation and function.; Acts as a negative regulator of insulin receptor (IR) signaling in skeletal muscle. Regulates insulin-induced tyrosine phosphorylation of insulin receptor (IR) and insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS-1), phosphorylation of protein kinase B and glycogen synthase kinase-3 and insulin induced stimulation of glucose uptake.; Isoform 1 and isoform 2 act as a negative regulator of FceRI-mediated signal transduction leading to cytokine production and degranulation, most likely by acting at the level of SYK to affect downstream events such as phosphorylation of SLP76 and LAT and mobilization of Ca(2+).
Gene References into Functions
  1. GRB2 physically links cyt-PTPe with Src and enables cyt-PTPe to activate Src downstream of activated integrins in osteoclast-like cells. PMID: 25381250
  2. Multifaceted modulation of K+ channels by protein-tyrosine phosphatase epsilon tunes neuronal excitability. PMID: 22722941
  3. Integrin activation regulates cyt-PTPe via Src-dependent Y638 phosphorylation. cyt-PTPe affects osteoclast podosome stability by a feedback loop ensuring proper Src activation downstream of integrins, linking their signaling with Src activation. PMID: 19692574
  4. RPTPepsilon is a physiological activator of Src in Neu-induced mammary tumors. PMID: 12598528

  9. Data show that association of protein tyrosine phosphatase epsilon with microtubules inhibits phosphatase activity and is regulated by the epidermal growth factor receptor. PMID: 17709387
  10. cytosolic PTPepsilon serves as another major candidate negative regulator of insulin receptor signaling in skeletal muscle PMID: 18006633
  11. Protein-tyrosine phosphatase epsilon regulates Shc signaling in a kinase-specific manner: increasing coherence in tyrosine phosphatase signaling PMID: 18093973
  12. findings show that PTPe is expressed in erythrocytes & is involved in red cell signaling networks PMID: 18924107
  13. Data suggest that PTPepsilon negatively regulates FcepsilonRI-mediated signalling pathways and thus constitutes a novel target for ameliorating allergic conditions. PMID: 19508371

Subcellular Location
[Isoform 1]: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.; [Isoform 2]: Cytoplasm. Note=Predominantly cytoplasmic. A small fraction is also associated with nucleus and membrane. Insulin can induce translocation to the membrane.; [Isoform 3]: Cytoplasm.
Protein Families
Protein-tyrosine phosphatase family, Receptor class 4 subfamily
Tissue Specificity
Isoform 2 is expressed in the spleen and thymus (at protein level). Detected in fibroblasts, myeloid cells, macrophages, and T-cells but not in B-cell lines. Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are expressed predominantly in the brain, testes, and lungs, with lower l
