Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Synthesizes the galactose-alpha(1,3)-galactose group by catalyzing the transfer of a galactose residue, with an alpha-1,3 linkage, on terminal lactosaminide (Gal-beta-1,4-GlcNAc-R) disaccharide borne by a glycoprotein or a glycolipid. Preferentially glycosylates proteins, can synthesize galactose-alpha(1,3)-galactose on glycoproteins but cannot synthesize the glycolipid called isogloboside 3 (iGb3).
Gene References into Functions
  1. Silencing the GGTA1, CMAH and B4GalNT2 genes in pigs achieved a significant antigen reduction. Changing the porcine carbohydrate profile effectively mediates human antibody-mediated complement dependent cytoxicity. PMID: 27100221
  2. The peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from the transgenic pigs were more resistant to lysis by pooled complement-preserved normal human serum than that from wild type (WT) pig. Accordingly, GGTA1 mutated piglets expressing hCD39 will provide a new organ source for xenotransplantation research PMID: 27830476
  3. Many waitlisted renal transplant patients have minimal xenoreactive antibody binding to the GGTA1/CMAH/B4GalNT2 knockout pig, but some HLA antibodies in sensitized patients cross-react with class I SLA. PMID: 28114170
  4. Silencing the porcine CMAH/GGTA1 genes necessary to avoid antibody-mediated rejection in a pig-to-human model also reduces the xenogeneic consumption of human platelets by the porcine liver. PMID: 26906939
  5. alpha 1-3-N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase-knockout pig did not appear to have an advantage over the GalT-KO pig with respect to reactivity with human antibodies from a xenotransplantation perspective PMID: 24219248
  6. GGTA1/CMAH knockout pig samples had increased relative amounts of high-mannose, incomplete, and xylosylated N-linked glycans PMID: 24033743
  7. study demonstrated that ZFN is an efficient tool in creating gene-modified pigs. GGTA1 null pigs and GGTA1 null fetal fibroblasts would benefit research and pig-to-human transplantation PMID: 24430555
  8. Anti-gal antibodies in alpha1,3-galactosyltransferase gene-knockout pigs. PMID: 22970769
  9. Topical application of liposomes with glycolipids that carry pig Galalpha1-3Galbeta1-4GlcNAc-R epitopes on wounds of alpha1,3galactosyltrasferase-deficient mice accelerates skin healing by rapid recruitment and activation of macrophages in excisional wounds. PMID: 21357545
  10. Human CD55 expression blocks hyperacute rejection and restricts complement activation in Gal knockout cardiac xenografts. PMID: 22391577
  11. These multidisciplinary results suggest that genetic modification to eliminate the alphaGal epitopes in the extracellular matrix (ECM) bioscaffolds had not altered the properties of these ECM bioscaffolds. PMID: 21216306
  12. This study demonstrates the role of alpha-Gal antigen and human alpha-Gal antibodies in the calcification process of valvular bioprostheses. PMID: 20036160
  13. transgenic male pigs were produced that possess an alpha alpha-1,3-galactosyltransferase knockout allele and express a randomly inserted human alpha 1,2-fucosylosyltransferase transgene PMID: 12672664
  14. RNA interference is a potent tool to down modulate alpha-Gal expression and to protect endothelial cells from complement-mediated cytotoxicity. PMID: 15699758
  15. Survival of xenoperfused knockout swine lungs is prolonged compared wiwth control lungs expressing this enzyme. PMID: 15808693
  16. Higher antibody binding and cytotoxicity to wild type cells compared with alpha1,3-galactosyltransferase gene-knockout cells show greater cytotoxicity to antibodies. PMID: 16298646
  17. Use of a homology-dependent strand transferase protein to modify the porcine gene encoding alpha 1,3 galactosyl transferase (GGTA1). PMID: 17038914
  18. Immune tolerant hearts demonstrated increased expression of porcine genes transsfected into mice andassociated with the stress response, modulation of immune function and cell survival PMID: 17175215
  19. Knockout genetic modification did not produce new compensatory glycolipid compounds reactive with human serum antibodies PMID: 18049121
  20. variation in GGTA1 of 8 commercial pig populations; 17 SNPs were detected: 11 in intronic regions & 6 in the 3' untranslated region; no SNPs change the encoded protein; but 8 of the SNPs may alter GGTA1 transcriptional regulation & pre-mRNA splicing PMID: 18263972
  21. Production of alpha 1,3-galactosyltransferase gene-deficient pigs by somatic cell nuclear transfer. PMID: 18288673
