Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Target Background

Function
Part of the bacABCDEFG operon responsible for the biosynthesis of bacilysin, an irreversible inactivator of the glutaminase domain of glucosamine synthetase. Catalyzes the formation of alpha-dipeptides from various L-amino acids in the presence of ATP. In vivo catalyzes the ligation of L-alanine and L-anticapsin (epoxycyclohexanonyl-Ala) to produce the final bacilysin antibiotic (L-Ala-L-4S-cyclohexenonyl-Ala dipeptide). The substrate specificity is restricted to small amino acids such as L-Ala, for the N-terminal end of the dipeptide, whereas a wide range of hydrophobic amino acids such as L-Phe, L-Tyr and L-Met are recognized for the C-terminal end.
