Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Induces host (human and mouse) cytokine release by monocyte cell lines via TLR2 and CD14; nonlipidated protein does not stimulate host cells.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Evaluation of OspA vaccination-induced serological correlates of protection against Lyme borreliosis in a mouse model. PMID: 24260146
  2. neuroinvasive Borrelia and its recombinant OspA activated CD40-dependent pathway in BMECs and induced expression of integrins essential for stationary adhesion PMID: 22355605
  3. Calmodulin fusion to truncated or mutant OspA N-terminal tether peptides were targeted to the periplasm. PMID: 21965569
  4. Both OspA and Vsp1 are compatible in anchoring these surface lipoproteins in the outer leaflet of the outer spirochetal membrane. PMID: 21908659
  5. data show disturbance of confined tether feature leads to premature folding of OspA in periplasm and prevents secretion through the membrane;suggest OspA emerges tail-first on bacterial surface independent of specific C-terminal targeting sequence PMID: 20398211
  6. The expression of OspA and OspC in B. burgdorferi in human tissue culture. PMID: 15838803
  7. the interaction between OspA and human complement receptor 3 is direct and not complement 3b-mediated PMID: 16113335
  8. The OspA single-layer beta-sheet achieves efficient hydrophobic surface burial without forming a hydrophobic core by a strategic placement of a variety of side-chains. PMID: 17335845
  9. The host neuroendocrine stress hormones, epinephrine and norepinephrine, are specifically bound by B. burgdorferi and result in increased expression of OspA. PMID: 17438273
  10. There remains an association between OspA(165-173) and antibiotic-refractory Lyme arthritis, and infection-induced autoimmunity is an attractive hypothesis to explain this outcome. PMID: 17555819
  11. OspB inhibits the phagocytosis and oxidative burst of human neutrophils at low serum concentrations, whereas OspA induces the oxidative burst in neutrophils. PMID: 18068388
  12. Data did not find any evidence for glycosylation of the major outer membrane proteins OspA. PMID: 18245287
  13. Increasing expression of OspA fully protected the ospC mutant from elimination from the skin tissue of SCID mice. PMID: 18452586
  14. OspA serves a critical antibody-shielding role during vector blood meal uptake from immune hosts and is not required for persistence in the tick vector. PMID: 18779341
  15. Increasing production of OspA or VlsE influences lipoprotein gene expression in the murine host and alters the infectious behaviour of B. burgdorferi. PMID: 18957595
