Cysteine and glycine-rich protein 1
Cysteine-rich protein 1
Short name= CRP
Short name= CRP1
Store at -20°C, for extended storage, conserve at -20°C or -80°C.
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
This gene encodes a member of the cysteine-rich protein (CSRP) family. This gene family includes a group of LIM domain proteins, which may be involved in regulatory processes important for development and cellular differentiation. The LIM/double zinc-finger motif found in this gene product occurs in proteins with critical functions in gene regulation, cell growth, and somatic differentiation.
Heat stable protein, that interacts with zyxin/ZYX. May be a component of a signal transduction pathway that mediates adhesion-stimulated changes in gene expression.
Nucleus, Cytoplasm, Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton
Most prominent in tissues that are enriched in smooth muscle cells, such as gizzard, stomach, and intestine. Lower level in the heart, no expression in liver, skeletal muscle, or brain.
