Target Background

Function
Energy-dependent efflux transporter responsible for decreased drug accumulation in multidrug-resistant cells. Specifically present in limbal stem cells, where it plays a key role in corneal development and repair.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Interaction analysis demonstrated that the following genotypes: MS4A14 DI+II, SLC2A DI+II and ABCB 5 CG+GG, were associated with a prothrombin time >/=12 sec and with Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) risk PMID: 29956771
