The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
Plays a role in male fertility (By similarity). May have a role in sperm migration or binding to zona-intact eggs (By similarity). Involved in the activation of the proacrosin/acrosin system

Patients with unexplained male infertility (UMI) show a decrease in the number of sperm cells compared to fertile men (PubMed:27649891). Sperm exhibit also abnormal activation of the proacrosin/acrosin system and premature proteolysis of ADAM2 (PubMed:27649891).
