Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Dendrite-specific motor protein which, in association with the Apba1-containing complex (LIN-10-LIN-2-LIN-7 complex), transports vesicles containing N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor subunit NR2B along microtubules.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Our findings have uncovered a hitherto unknown effector of Rab23 and demonstrate how Rab23 could mediate the transport of Kif17 to the primary cilium PMID: 26136363
  2. D1-type dopaminergic receptors are delivered to cilia by a mechanism requiring the receptor cytoplasmic tail, the intraflagellar transport complex-B (IFT-B), and ciliary kinesin KIF17. This targeting mechanism critically depends on Rab23. PMID: 26182404
  3. KIF17 contributed to the development of bone cancer pain in the spinal cord through NR2B transport and mLin10 may also play a role in pain development. PMID: 25573412
  4. findings indicated that CaMKII-mediated KIF17/NR2B trafficking may contribute to bone cancer pain, and inhibition of CaMKII may be a useful alternative or adjunct therapy for relieving cancer pain PMID: 24836181
  5. prenatal stress significantly decreased the hippocampal KIF17 and NR2B level in offspring at postnatal stages of 3 weeks and 9 weeks, which may be related to deficits of spatial cognition caused by prenatal stress. PMID: 23239421
  6. The results of this study suggested that phosphorylation-based regulation of NMDA receptor transport is critical for learning and memory in vivo and regulate by kif17. PMID: 22514311
  7. This study demonistrated that KIF17 is fundamental for memory and learning via differential support of synaptic NR2A/2B levels. PMID: 21521616
  8. NRF-1 co-regulates oxidative enzymes that generate energy and neurochemicals that consume energy related to glutamatergic neurotransmission, such as KIF17, NR1, and NR2B. PMID: 21172391
  9. KIF17 contributes to neuronal events required for learning and memory by trafficking fundamental N-methyl-d-aspartate-type glutamate receptor, NR2A. PMID: 12391294
  10. ACT selectively associates with KIF17b, a kinesin highly expressed in male germ cells; The ACT-KIF17b interaction is restricted to specific stages of spermatogenesis and directly determines the intracellular localization of ACT [KIF17b] PMID: 12493914
  11. the abilities of KIF17b to shuttle between nuclear and cytoplasmic compartments and to transport activator of CREM in testis (ACT)are neither dependent on its motor domain nor on microtubules PMID: 16002395
  12. kinesin motor protein KIF17b, which is involved in the nucleocytoplasmic transport of RNA and of a transcriptional coactivator, localizes in chromatoid bodies. PMID: 16787948
  13. Together, these findings imply a function of Spatial in spermatid differentiation as a new cargo of kinesin KIF17b, in a microtubule-dependent mechanism specific to the manchette and the principal piece of the sperm tail. PMID: 17196196
  14. These findings suggest that Spatial may play a role in neuronal morphogenesis and synaptic plasticity through its interaction with the kinesin motor KIF17 in dendrites. PMID: 17961552
  15. Reports demonstrated that CaMKII-dependent phosphorylation of KIF17 on Ser 1029 disrupts the KIF17-Mint1 association and results in the release of the transported cargo from its microtubule-based transport. PMID: 18066053
