Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Involved in pH regulation to eliminate acids generated by active metabolism or to counter adverse environmental conditions. Major proton extruding system driven by the inward sodium ion chemical gradient. Plays an important role in signal transduction.
Gene References into Functions
  1. work has uncovered a crucial role of NHE8 in acrosome biogenesis and suggests that some forms of human globozoospermia might be caused by a loss of function of this Na(+)/H(+) exchanger. PMID: 28476888
  2. NHE8 may be involved in the establishment of intestinal mucosal integrity by regulating the functions of goblet and Paneth cells. PMID: 26505975
  3. NHE8 function is necessary for the survival of photoreceptor cells and NHE8 is important for RPE cell polarity and function PMID: 25791178
  4. The NHE8 protein is required in the RPE to maintain correct regulation of endosomal volume and/or pH which is essential for the cellular integrity and subsequent function of RPE PMID: 25736793
  5. Suggest a novel role of NHE8 in male fertility through its effect on modifying luteinizing hormone receptor function. PMID: 25472965
  6. Both NHE3 and NHE8 likely play a role in neonatal acidification. PMID: 25377912
  7. Altered ocular surface function and reduced epithelial DRA expression in NHE8-/- mice suggest that the role of NHE8 in ocular surface tissue involve in tear production and ocular epithelial protection. PMID: 25377091
  8. NHE3 is the predominant Na(+)/H(+) exchanger in adult mice. NHE8 may play a compensatory role in renal acidification and blood pressure regulation in NHE3(-/-) mice. PMID: 23054255
  9. NHE8 is indirectly involved in gastric bicarbonate secretion and gastric mucosal protection PMID: 23220221
  10. the role of NHE8 in the intestine involves both sodium absorption and bicarbonate secretion PMID: 22575219
  11. intestinal NHE8 has a compensatory role in NHE2X3 DKO mice and this regulation is gender-dependent. PMID: 21252044
  12. Has >50% identity to Drosophila melanogaster "NHE1,"; NHE8 is expressed in the proximal kidney tubule, where it may contribute to apical membrane ion transport PMID: 12409279
  13. NHE8 is expressed along the gastrointestinal tract and NHE8 is a functional Na(+)/H(+) exchanger with kinetic characteristics that differ from other apically expressed NHE isoforms. PMID: 18209477

Subcellular Location
Golgi apparatus membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Protein Families
Monovalent cation:proton antiporter 1 (CPA1) transporter (TC 2.A.36) family
Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitously expressed. Expressed in both renal cortex and medulla. In the cortex, present in the majority of cortical tubules. In the medulla, most highly expressed in the proximal tubules (S3) of the outer stripe of the outer medulla.
