Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Structural component of the gap junctions and the hemichannels.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Panx3 modulates intracellular ATP levels, resulting in the inhibition of odontoblast proliferation through the AMPK/p21 signaling pathway and promotion of cell differentiation by the BMP/Smad signaling pathway. PMID: 28494020
  2. data suggest that Panx1 and Panx3 are not essential for baseline hearing in mice tested, but the therapeutic targeting of Panx3 may prove protective against mid-high-frequency hearing loss caused by loud NE. PMID: 27784763
  3. The study has identified several genetic loci that influence both body mass index and carcinogenesis and implicate Panx3 as a candidate gene that links these phenotypes through its effects on inflammation and lipid metabolism. PMID: 27506198
  4. Our results clearly show that Panx3 ablation produces phenotypic effects in mouse femora and humeri, and support the premise that Panx3 has a role in regulating long bone growth and development. PMID: 26749194
  5. Panx3 functions as an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) Ca(2+) channel to promote differentiation, and it could rescue mineralization defects in Cx43(-/-) calvarial cells. PMID: 26759176
  6. Mice lacking Panx3 are resistant to the development of osteoarthritis. PMID: 26138248
  7. results provide evidence of the crucial roles of Panx3 in vertebrate skeletal development in vivo. PMID: 26183770
  8. Panx3 is a new regulator that promotes the switch from proliferation to differentiation of osteoprogenitors via multiple Panx3 signaling pathways. PMID: 24338011
  9. Panx3 may serve an important role in bone development, and is a novel target for Runx2-dependent signaling. PMID: 21915903
  10. Panx3 promotes osteoblast differentiation by functioning as an ER Ca(2+) channel and a hemichannel, and by forming gap junctions. PMID: 21690309
  11. Panx3 functions to switch the chondrocyte cell fate from proliferation to differentiation by regulating the intracellular ATP/cAMP levels PMID: 20404334
  12. Panx1 and Panx3 are coexpressed in the mammalian epidermis, and the regulation of Panx1 plays a key role in keratinocyte differentiation. PMID: 20332104
  13. although Panx1 and Panx3 share a common endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi secretory pathway to Cx43, their ultimate cell surface residency appears to be independent of cell contacts and the need for intact microtubules PMID: 20086016
  14. Panx1 can interact with Panx3 in a glycosylation-dependent manner. Panx3 can traffic to the cell surface and form functional single-membrane channels. PMID: 19692571
  15. These studies show that Panx1 and Panx3 have many characteristics that are distinct from Cx43 and that these proteins probably play an important biological role as single membrane channels. PMID: 17925379
  16. Collectively, diverse expression and distribution profiles of Panx1 and Panx3 suggest that they may have multiple cellular functions. PMID: 18649185
  17. Results show that pannexins 1, 2, and 3 are abundantly expressed in the mouse and rat cochlea and demonstrate distinct cellular distributions. PMID: 19009624
