Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Component of a progesterone-binding protein complex. Binds progesterone. Has many reported cellular functions (heme homeostasis, interaction with CYPs). Required for the maintenance of uterine histoarchitecture and normal female reproductive lifespan. Intracellular heme chaperone. Regulates heme synthesis via interactions with FECH and acts as a heme donor for at least some hemoproteins. May be implicated in 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) immunotoxicity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The PGRMC1 expression level correlates with the binding activity of SW120 in rat brain cells. PMID: 26335282
  2. PGRMC1 and PGRMC2 are involved in regulating entry into the G1 stage of the cell cycle. PMID: 25253729
  3. Knockdown by siRNA-Pgrmc1 in microglia before add-back to astrocyte-neuron cocultures suppressed the P4-E2 antagonism of neurite outgrowth PMID: 23653459
  4. After brain injury, mPRalpha expression was induced in oligodendrocytes, astrocytes and reactive microglia. This points to a role in mediating modulatory effects of progesterone in inflammation, ion and water homeostasis and myelin repair in the injured brain PMID: 23211561
  5. The ability to suppress Tcf/Lef activity is part of the mechanism through which P4 activation of PGRMC1 regulates the gene cascades that control granulosa cell function with this action being dependent in part on the sumoylation status of PGRMC1. PMID: 22719051
  6. Pgrmc1 and Pgrmc2 may play roles in neuroendocrine and reproductive functions of the female rat. PMID: 20977928
  7. PGRMC1 protein complex identified as the putative sigma-2 receptor binding site. PMID: 21730960
  8. roles of progesterone (P4) and Progesterone Receptor Membrane Component 1 (PGRMC1) in regulating mitosis of spontaneously immortalized granulosa cells (SIGCs). P4's actions appear to be dependent on PGRMC1's function within the mitotic spindle. PMID: 21148105
  9. The present studies suggest a genomic component to PGRMC1's anti-apoptotic mechanism of action, which requires the presence of the PGRMC1 dimer. PMID: 20144686
  10. Membrane-bound progesterone receptor (mPR) is a mediator of physiologic effects of the sex hormones. PMID: 15570619
  11. Expression of 25-Dx in structures involved in CSF production and in osmoregulation, and its up-regulation after brain damage, point to role of this progesterone-binding protein in maintenance of water homeostasis after traumatic brain injury. PMID: 15934950
  12. Molecular identification of 25-Dx had it as a heme-binding protein. PMID: 16279947
  13. PGRMC1 is the progesterone binding protein that mediates P4's antiapoptotic action PMID: 17991724
