Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Notes

Target Background

Function
Accessory subunit of neuronal kainate-sensitive glutamate receptors, GRIK2 and GRIK3. Increases kainate-receptor channel activity, slowing the decay kinetics of the receptors, without affecting their expression at the cell surface, and increasing the open probability of the receptor channels. Modulates the agonist sensitivity of kainate receptors. Slows the decay of kainate receptor-mediated excitatory postsynaptic currents (EPSCs), thus directly influencing synaptic transmission.

  1. GluK2 surface and synaptic expression are independent on the auxiliary subunits Neto1 and Neto2. In the CA1 hippocampal pyramidal cell, GluK2, in contrast to GluK1, traffics to the neuronal surface and synapse efficiently and the auxiliary subunits rNeto1 and mNeto2 caused no further enhancement of these two trafficking processes.   2. NETO2 slows the desensitization rate of glutamate K2 kainate (GluK2a) receptors, promotes plasma membrane localization of receptors in hippocampal neurons, and targets GluK1-containing receptors to synapses. PMID: 21593317
