Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Tegument protein that can bind to various RNA transcripts. Plays a role in the attenuation of selective viral and cellular mRNA degradation by modulating the activity of host shutoff RNase UL41/VHS. Plays also a role in the primary envelopement of virions in the perinuclear space, probably by interacting with two nuclear egress proteins UL31 and UL34.
Gene References into Functions
  1. These data show that BoHV-1 VP8 developed a novel strategy to interrupt the ATM signaling pathway and to promote apoptosis. These results further enhance our understanding of the functions of VP8 during BoHV-1 infection and provide an additional explanation for the reduced virulence of BoHV-1DeltaUL47. PMID: 29769345
  2. study determined that VP8 plays a role in downregulation of the antiviral host response by inhibiting IFN-beta signaling; VP8 interacted with and prevented nuclear accumulation of STAT1 at 2 h postinfection in the absence of de novo viral protein synthesis PMID: 26889034
  3. Based on these results, the authors concluded that VP8 binds to intron-less mRNAs of bICP0, gB, gC and gD. PMID: 25529439
  4. Bovine herpesvirus-1 VP8 interacts with DDB1 and is monoubiquitinated during infection. PMID: 22542975
  5. U(L)47 gene product was indispensable for BHV-1 replication in vivo; in the U(L)47 deletion mutant-infected cells, the gD and VP22 protein levels were significantly reduced. PMID: 19864376
  6. New UL47 nuclear export signal bears little similarity to other export signals so far defined, we suggest it may be involved in bUL47 export from the nucleus via a novel cellular receptor. PMID: 17005680
  7. VP8 interacts with cellular CK2 and viral US3 in BoHV-1-infected cells, and is in turn subject to kinase activities associated with both of these proteins. PMID: 19692545
