Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Neuronal recognition molecule for the MP1 axon pathway, pathway recognition for axons during the development of nerve fascicles.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Fas2-mediated intermicrovillar homophilic adhesion complexes help stabilize the brush border. PMID: 27072072
  2. Csk and its SFK substrates impinge upon homeostatic control of NMJ function by regulating downstream expression or localization of FasII. PMID: 26901416
  3. Fas 2 is linked to core clock by Mef2 and influences circadian cycle within pacemaker neurons; Mef2 is required for this daily fasciculation-defasciculation cycle PMID: 23889933
  4. the expression of Adf-1 targets Staufen and Fasciclin II (FasII), identified through larval brain ChIP-Seq for Adf-1, is negatively regulated by Adf-1, and manipulations of these genes predictably modify dendrite growth. PMID: 23864680
  5. Together with our results suggesting that DmRet and DmGfrl do not function in cis in Drosophila, which lacks GDNF ligands, these data imply that DmGfrl may be an evolutionarily ancient binding partner for NCAM/FasII. PMID: 23284846
  6. The inability of Tao mutant cells to shorten their membranes is caused by the accumulation of the cell adhesion molecule Fasciclin 2. PMID: 23266957
  7. this FasII isoform has unique functions in synaptic development independent of transsynaptic adhesion. beag and dsmu1 mutants demonstrate an essential role for these previously uncharacterized splicing factors in the regulation of synapse development PMID: 22593074
  8. integrins act through CaMKII activation to control the localization of Fasciclin 2 in the development of NMJ synaptic morphology PMID: 12091308
  9. Fas2(spin) rotation defects are linked to an abnormal endocrine function and an elevated level of juvenile hormone. PMID: 12702654
  10. Data show that fasciclin 2 directs cluster asymmetry essential for timing delamination of epithelial cells from the epithelium in preparation for migration. PMID: 15056617
  11. Drosophila larval neuromuscular junction to investigate the pathways activated by Fasciclin II (FasII) PMID: 15976083
  12. Fas II functions to restrict branch length and arbor expanse during development of innervation to the Dorsal Longitudinal (flight) Muscle PMID: 16055111
  13. Fas2 mediates trans-synaptic adhesion, which contributes to postsynaptic molecular assembly at the onset of synaptogenesis. PMID: 18070911
  14. Loss of fas2 interacts with genetic conditions that perturb EGFR signalling. Fas2 is expressed in patterns during imaginal disc development, and in eye we have shown that this depends on EGFR activity, implying participation in a negative-feedback loop. PMID: 19141676

Subcellular Location
[Isoform 1]: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.; [Isoform 2]: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor.
Tissue Specificity
In embryos, both isoforms are initially expressed on the surface of the axons in the MP1 pathway and later on several other longitudinal axon fascicles.
