Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
May play roles in mucosal defense system and cellular immune defense. May play a role in liver regeneration. May be an important factor in fate decision and differentiation of transit-amplifying ductular (oval) cells within the hepatic lineage. May function as a binding protein in saliva for the regulation of taste sensation. May play a role as an opsonin receptor for SFTPD and SPAR in macrophage tissues throughout the body, including epithelial cells lining the gastrointestinal tract. Required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis. Displays a broad calcium-dependent binding spectrum against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, suggesting a role in defense against bacterial pathogens. Binds to a range of poly-sulfated and poly-phosphorylated ligands which may explain its broad bacterial-binding specificity. Inhibits cytoinvasion of S.enterica. Associates with the actin cytoskeleton and is involved in its remodeling during regulated exocytosis. Interacts with pancreatic zymogens in a pH-dependent manner and may act as a Golgi cargo receptor in the regulated secretory pathway of the pancreatic acinar cell.
Gene References into Functions
  1. We found that in 3 different populations, mucosal DMBT1 expression was significantly increased (2.5 fold) in individuals with dysplasia compared to multifocal atrophic gastritis without intestinal metaplasia; the increase was also observed in individuals with advanced gastritis and positive H. pylori infection. PMID: 28423364
  2. a novel role for interleukin-27 (IL-27) as mediator of intestinal epithelial barrier protection mediated via DMBT1 and IDO1 PMID: 22069308
  3. DMBT1 functions as an important endothelium-derived ECM protein that is able to bind angiogenic factors and promote adhesion, migration, proliferation, and angiogenesis as well as vascular repair. PMID: 22053071
  4. Data show that deletion of hensin from intercalated cells results in the absence of typical alpha-intercalated cells and the consequent development of complete distal renal tubular acidosis (dRTA). PMID: 21098262
  5. Carboxyl-terminal Asp(D) -3, Thr(T) -2, Lys(K) -1 and Leu(L) 0 are involved in numerous interactions with PDZ1 domains of NHERF/EBP50 and PDZK1/CAP70. PMID: 17390218
  6. binds gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and interacts with lung surfactant protein D PMID: 12884308
  7. Muclin is a Golgi cargo receptor that binds to regulated secretory proteins under the mildly acidic pH conditions that exist in the trans-Golgi network PMID: 15292166
  8. Mouse embryonic stem cells seeded on hensin formed hemispheric epithelial structures whose outermost layer terminally differentiated to an epithelium that resembled the visceral endoderm. PMID: 15452149
  9. The results identify a novel mammary tumor susceptibility locus in mice and support a role for DMBT1 in suppression of mammary tumors in both mice and women. PMID: 17525270
  10. Dmbt1(-/-) mice display enhanced susceptibility to dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis and elevated Tnf, Il6, and Nod2 expression levels during inflammation. PMID: 17983803
  11. Muclin deficiency impairs trafficking of regulated proteins to a stimulus-releasable pool in the exocrine pancreas PMID: 18202109
  12. Expression of pro-Muclin (Dmbt1) in rat pancreatic AR42J cells induces functional regulated secretory granules. PMID: 15987769
  13. CRP-ductin (also known as Muclin) is upregulated in the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract of CFTR knockout mice. This sulfated glycoprotein may be a protective molecule upregulated by inflammation. PMID: 9247472

Subcellular Location
Secreted. Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle membrane; Single-pass membrane protein; Lumenal side. Note=Localized to the lumenal aspect of crypt cells in the small intestine. In the colon, seen in the lumenal aspect of surface epithelial cells. Formed in the ducts of von Ebner gland and released into the fluid bathing the taste buds contained in the taste papillae. In the CFTR knockout mouse, enhanced on the acinar luminar surface.
Protein Families
DMBT1 family
Tissue Specificity
Strongly expressed in acini and duct epithelial cells of the exocrine pancreas but not in the islets of Langerhans. Expressed in gall bladder, salivary glands and in the epithelium lining larger hepatic ducts, but not in the liver parenchyma, stomach or l
