Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Promotes the exchange of GDP by GTP. Activates specific Rho GTPase family members, thereby inducing various signaling mechanisms that regulate neuronal shape, growth, and plasticity, through their effects on the actin cytoskeleton. Induces lamellipodia independent of its GEF activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Kalirin reduction in APPswe/PSEN1dE9 mice significantly attenuated psychosis-associated behavior at 12 months of age without changing spatial memory performance. PMID: 28319837
  2. Kalirin-7 plays a prominent role in nociceptive sensitization via activity-dependent modulation of spinal synapses. PMID: 25865668
  3. lack of Kalrn expression in POMC cells closely mimicked the effects of global Kalrn knockout on anxiety-like behavior and passive avoidance conditioning PMID: 25014196
  4. Kal7 may allow coordination of the many signaling pathways contributing to dendritic spine morphogenesis. PMID: 24600045
  5. Kalirin may play a role in paracrine and/or endocrine signaling events that control skeletal bone remodeling and the maintenance of bone mass. PMID: 24380811
  6. Kalerin-7 knock-out mice exhibit increased self-administration of cocaine compared to wild-type mice. PMID: 23894151
  7. Many of the widespread and diverse deficits observed both within and outside of the nervous system when expression of Kalrn is eliminated may reflect its role in secretory granule function and its expression outside of the nervous system. PMID: 23116210
  8. Kalirin functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for Rac1 in smooth muscle cells, promoting migration and proliferation. PMID: 23288169
  9. Kalirin-7 is an selectively essential modulator of NMDA receptor-dependent synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus. PMID: 22182308
  10. Identification of kalirin-7 as a potential post-synaptic density signaling hub PMID: 21488700
  11. This study demonstrated a novel and functionally important interaction between the NR2B subunit of the NMDA receptor and Kalirin, proteins known to be essential for normal synaptic plasticity. PMID: 21880917
  12. These data suggest that hippocampal structure and function are more resilient to the complete loss of kalirin, and reveal impairments in fear learning. PMID: 20708080
  13. Thus cocaine-mediated changes in alternative splicing of the Kalrn gene may contribute importantly to the behavioral, morphological and biochemical responses observed. PMID: 21329509
  14. Studies indicate that hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons of Kal7 knockout (Kal7KO) mice exhibit decreased frequency of spontaneous excitatory postsynaptic current (sEPSC). PMID: 20730383
  15. These data demonstrate important roles for kalirin in the regulation of cortical structure, ultrastructure, and spine structural plasticity. PMID: 19800004
