Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Cell adhesion, ankyrin-binding protein which may be involved in neurite extension, axonal guidance, synaptogenesis, myelination and neuron-glial cell interactions.
Gene References into Functions
  1. we identify QKI as the long-sought regulator of Neurofascin alternative splicing PMID: 27053216
  2. P0/NFasc Interaction critical for the integrity of paranodal/nodal structures, but not for the stability of myelin PMID: 26406915
  3. Neurofascin 140 is essential for assembly of the node of Ranvier in embryogenesis. PMID: 25653379
  4. In embryonic mouse axons, AnkG is expressed at the beginning of axonogenesis at E9.5 and initially distributed homogeneously along the entire growing axon. From E11.5 the protein progressively becomes restricted to the proximal axon. PMID: 23728480
  5. loss of Nfasc155 was sufficient to cause a robust delay in postnatal synapse elimination at the NMJ across all muscle groups examined. PMID: 25232125
  6. the apparent dependency on sulfatide for maintaining Nfasc155 and MAG associations is intriguing since the fatty acid composition of sulfatide is altered and paranodal ultrastructure is compromised in multiple sclerosis PMID: 24081651
  7. Neurofascin is O-mannosylated and the glycosylation sites have been mapped. PMID: 22746206
  8. We propose that neurofascin optimizes communication between mature neurons by anchoring the key elements of the adult axon initial segment complex. PMID: 21382554
  9. Results suggest that neurofascin-dependent assembly of the nodal complex acts as a molecular boundary, facilitating axonal domain organization and saltatory conduction along myelinated axons. PMID: 21262464
  10. Nfasc isoforms use distinct protein-protein interaction modules to organize and stabilize specific axonal domains in myelinated axons: loss of Nfasc immunoglobulin domains 5 and 6 in mice mimics complete ablation of Nfasc. PMID: 20371806
  11. In both mouse and human samples, the expression pattern of neurofascin 155(high) and neurofascin 155(low) is altered coincident with paranodal decay. PMID: 20129933
  12. These results implicate ankyrin-based localization of L1CAMs, such as neurofascin, in subcellular organization of GABAergic synapses. PMID: 15479642
  13. Glial and neuronal Neurofascins have distinct functions in the assembly of the central nervous system node of Ranvier. PMID: 18573915
  14. In the absence of glial Nfasc(NF155), paranodal axoglial junctions fail to form, axonal domains fail to segregate, and myelinated axons undergo degeneration. PMID: 19185024
  15. a neurofascin intracellular domain activates FGFR1 for neurite outgrowth, whereas the extracellular domain functions as an additional, regulatory FGFR1 interaction domain in the course of development PMID: 19666467
  16. Together, our studies establish a central role for paranodal axoglial junctions in both the organization and the maintenance of axonal domains in myelinated axons. PMID: 19185024
