Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Involved in neural development, regulating the establishment of proper connectivity within the nervous system. May function as a cellular signal transducer.; Plays a role in the regulation of neuroplasticity in the limbic system. Mediates a rapid reorganization of actin- and tubulin-based cytoskeleton elements with an increase in dendritic arborization and spine density formation of neurons in the hippocampus and amygdala. Induces BDNF transcription inhibition in neurons. Activates the mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase 2 (MEK2) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) cascade. Acts also as a bioactive neuroprotective peptide on limbic neurons of the brain and regulates stress-induced behavior: attenuates alkalosis-associated necrotic cell death and the effects of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) on c-fos/FOS induction and on the reinstatement of cocaine seeking.; Induces gene transcription activation.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Results of our study, that describes a new Tenm1 mouse, agree with the hypothesis that TENM1 has a role in olfaction. However, additional studies should be done in larger Congenital general anosmia (CGA) cohorts, to provide statistical evidence that loss-of-function mutations in TENM1 can solely cause the disease in our and other CGA cases PMID: 27040985
  2. Our data provides novel evidence that TCAP-1 is structurally and functionally distinct from the larger teneurins PMID: 23026563
  3. Our data provides novel evidence that functionally links the teneurin and dystroglycan systems and provides new insight into the molecular mechanisms by which TCAP-1 regulates cytoskeletal dynamics in hippocampal neurons PMID: 22698694
  4. The TCAP-1 induces a significant decline in BDNF transcription and protein labeling in embyronic mouse immortalized hypothalamic neurons. PMID: 22209827
  5. These data suggest that TCAP acts, in part, as a functional region of the teneurins to regulate neurite and axonal growth of neurons. PMID: 17174479
  6. Thus, the TCAP-teneurin system may be part of a mechanism to protect neurons during trauma, such as hypoxia and ischemia. PMID: 17900539
  7. TCAP-1 attenuated the corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF)-induced increase in c-Fos expression in the limbic system: TCAP-1 may play a potential role in the stress regulation by blocking CRF-mediated activity in stress-sensitive areas of the brain PMID: 19428634

Subcellular Location
[Isoform 1]: Cell membrane; Single-pass membrane protein. Note=Colocalizes with isoform 2 at the plasma membrane.; [Isoform 2]: Cytoplasm. Cell membrane. Secreted. Note=Transported to the cell membrane and probably secreted to function as an autocrine or paracrine signaling molecule. The lack of a hydrophobic segment sequence suggests that isoform 2 is released by damaged cells or is secreted by a mechanism differing from that used for other secretory proteins.; [Ten-1 intracellular domain]: Nucleus. Nucleus speckle. Nucleus matrix. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.; [Teneurin C-terminal-associated peptide]: Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Cell membrane. Note=Colocalizes with isoform 1 at the plasma membrane. Colocalizes with the dystroglycan complex at the cell membrane in hippocampal cells. Binds hippocampal cell membranes and is incorporated in the cytoplasm by endocytosis in a caveoli-dependent manner. Upon cell internalization is transported arround and in the nucleus.
Protein Families
Tenascin family, Teneurin subfamily
Tissue Specificity
Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are expressed in the brain. Isoform 2 is expressed in the granular layer of the dentate gyrus and the pyramidal layer (Py) of the CA1, CA2 and CA3 of the hippocampus (at protein level). Expressed in the cortex, thalamus, CA1, CA2,
