Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Hypothalamic neuropeptide which binds to the G-protein-coupled galanin receptors (GALR1, GALR2 and GALR3). Involved in a large number of putative physiological functions in CNS homeostatic processes, including the regulation of gonadotropin-releasing hormone secretion.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Hypothalamic galanin-like peptide rescues the onset of puberty in food-restricted weanling rats. PMID: 22681480
  2. present observations are consistent with the argument that galanin-like peptide (GALP) is a downstream effector of leptin's actions within the central nervous system PMID: 12586757
  3. This is the first study to demonstrate close apposition of galanin-like peptide (GALP)-immunoreactive cell bodies and GALP neurons expressing OX1-receptors in direct contact with orexin (OX1)-immunoreactive terminals in the arcuate nucleus. PMID: 12672543
  4. hypothalamic GALP gene expression is controlled by leptin signals and suggests possible involvement of GALP in the reproductive abnormalities of the Zucker obese rat. PMID: 12746327
  5. Cell activation induced by GALP in the supraoptic hypothalamic nucleus and nucleus tractus solitarius was dependent on food intake but independent of food consumption in all other brain regions. PMID: 12933672
  6. Leptin's activation of the sympathetic nervous system, and ultimately thermogenesis, may be partially mediated by GALP through a melanocortin-independent mechanism. PMID: 12960003
  7. Thyroidectomy led to a significant reduction in galanin-like peptide (GALP) mRNA expression. Expression of GALP mRNA was increased in the neurohypophysis of lactating rats, whereas GALP mRNA expression in the arcuate nucleus was unaffected by lactation. PMID: 14962070
  8. results have shown that STZ-induced diabetes, which suppresses leptin and insulin levels, results in a reduction of intracellular levels of GALP mRNA in the arcuate nucleus PMID: 15111492
  9. GALP gene expression in rats might be regulated by leptin-independent mechanisms. PMID: 15203243
  10. adaptive responses in GALP signaling might occur during chronic overfeeding PMID: 15944031
  11. observations demonstrate that endogenous Galanin-like peptide (GALP)provides trophic support to the neuroendocrine reproductive axis, including sexual behavior PMID: 16046316
  12. These results showed that acute osmotic stimulus-induced GALP gene expression in the pituicyte of the PP, but not in the neurons in the Arc, and the gene expression in the pituicyte is regulated by plasma osmolality and/or plasma sodium concentration. PMID: 17485169
  13. GALP-containing neurons innervate tuberoinfundibular dopaminergic neurons PMID: 17916390
  14. regulatory mechanism of GALP mRNA is different from that of the neuropeptide Y and proopiomelanocortin genes during postnatal development PMID: 17950941
  15. These data suggest that GALP activates feeding and sexual behaviors in male rats by stimulating dopaminergic neurons that terminate within the mPOA. PMID: 19124073
