Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Phosphorylated MAP1B may play a role in the cytoskeletal changes that accompany neurite extension. Possibly MAP1B binds to at least two tubulin subunits in the polymer, and this bridging of subunits might be involved in nucleating microtubule polymerization and in stabilizing microtubules. Acts as a positive cofactor in DAPK1-mediated autophagic vesicle formation and membrane blebbing. Facilitates tyrosination of alpha-tubulin in neuronal microtubules. Required for synaptic maturation. Interacts with TMEM185A.
Gene References into Functions
  1. MAP1B restricts the access of AMPARs to dendritic spines and the postsynaptic membrane, contributing to downregulating synaptic transmission PMID: 28904092
  2. MAP1B interacts with a guanine exchange factor, termed Tiam1, which specifically activates Rac1. a novel function of MAP1B related with the control of small GTPases PMID: 23300879
  3. Overexpression of MAP1B 1-126 induced both neurite extension and neuronal death, suggesting that MAP1B 1-126 could be involved in neuronal degeneration and aberrant sprouting. PMID: 22169499
  4. MAP1B enhances microtubule assembly rates and axon extension rates in developing neurons by binding to dynamic microtubules. PMID: 22033417
  5. We suggest a role for Stau2 in the generation and regulation of Map1b mRNA containing granules that are required for mGluR-long-term depression PMID: 21508097
  6. MAP1B is rapidly expessed in axons associated with plasticity of myelinated fibers. PMID: 12270035
  7. These results suggest that beta-amyloid does not induce deleterious full-length MAP1B directly, but overexpression of full-length MAP1B might act as an effector of cell death in neurodegenerative disorders related to cytoskeletal abnormalities. PMID: 12376528
  8. MAP1B immunoreactivities are widely distributed in the cerebral cortex and are observed in the postsynaptic area, but not in presynaptic terminals, suggesting important roles for MAP1B in synaptic functions. PMID: 14964776
  9. The recovery of the plasticity-associated protein MAP1B following stroke is delayed in both 3- and 20-month-old rats and becomes prominent between days 14 and 28. PMID: 15090053
  10. GSK-3beta phosphorylation of MAP1B at Ser1260 and Thr1265 is spatially restricted to growing axons PMID: 15731007
  11. Thus, NGF drives increased neurite growth rates partly by coupling the MAPK pathway to the activation of GSK3beta and thereby phosphorylation of MAP1B. PMID: 15737742
  12. Transcriptional regulation of MAP1B appears to be a common mechanism in both neurons and oligodendroglia. In addition, we found posttranscriptional regulation of MAP1B mRNA by the selective RNA-binding protein QKI in oligodendroglia. PMID: 16855020
  13. MAP1B was also detected as a biotinylated transmembrane protein which increased with synaptogenesis, indicating a role in neurites maturation. PMID: 17151949
  14. These results reveal an S-nitrosylation-dependent signal-transduction pathway that is involved in regulation of the axonal cytoskeleton and identify MAP1B as a major component of this pathway. PMID: 17704770
  15. The light chain (LC1) of microtubule-associated protein 1B (MAP1B)-5-HT(3A) receptor interaction contributes to a mechanism that regulates receptor desensitization kinetics. PMID: 18063656
