Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Mediates tubular uptake of organic compounds from circulation. Mediates the influx of agmatine, serotonin, choline, ranitidine, histamine, creatinine, amantadine, memantine, acriflavine, 4-[4-(dimethylamino)-styryl]-N-methylpyridinium ASP and amiloride. Mediates the influx of adrenaline, noradrenaline (norepinephrine), dopamine, cimetidine, famotidine, metformin, N-1-methylnicotinamide (NMN), 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP), tetraethylammonium (TEA), oxaliplatin and cisplatin. Cisplatin may develop a nephrotoxic action. Transport of creatinine is inhibited by fluoroquinolones such as DX-619 and LVFX. This transporter is a major determinant of the anticancer activity of oxaliplatin and may contribute to antitumor specificity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. These results provide the first identification of a high affinity neuronal transporter for p-tyramine, and also confirm the recently described localization of OCT2 in pre-synaptic terminals. PMID: 27901065
  2. Formononetin prevents cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury by targeting Oct2/TP53 in the kidney. PMID: 28414026
  3. Renal rOCT2 levels, but not rOCT1 and rMATE1, were significantly lowered in female rats. PMID: 25876759
  4. A significant age-related decrease in rOCT2 protein expression was observed. PMID: 24981592
  5. cisplatin uptake was increased by OCT2 overexpression in male, but not female rats and associated with increased cellular sensitivity to cisplatin toxicity PMID: 26174463
  6. Data show that lycopene upregulated the organic anion transporters (OAT1 and OAT3) and organic cation transporters (OCT1 and OCT2) in cisplatin-induced acute renal injury. PMID: 24531880
  7. liver I/R decreases the tubular secretion of cimetidine, mainly because of the decreased rOCT2 level in the kidney, and that oxidative stress should be responsible in part for decreased renal rOCT2 after liver I/R injury. PMID: 23774469
  8. we demonstrate that OCT2 (SLC22A2) is expressed in cholinergic neurons, motoneurons in the anterior horn of the spinal cord PMID: 23958595

  10. renal mRNA level of the organic cation transporter-2 showed an age-related increase; the increase in creatinine clearance highly contributed to the age-related increase in urinary creatinine excretion compared to mRNA levels of Oct2 and Mate1 PMID: 23182769
  11. These observations suggest that the induction of experimental acute renal failure leads to an accumulation of endogenous organic cation(s), probably rOCT2 substrate(s), in the plasma PMID: 22941487
  12. a decrease in urinary creatinine excretion in acute kidney injury was accompanied by a reduction in creatinine clearance and reduced mRNA expression of the renal organic cation transporter-2, which is known to function as a transporter for creatinine PMID: 22005293
  13. OAT3 and OCT2 are expressed at significant levels in the rat olfactory epithelia. PMID: 20924140
  14. the elevated tubular secretion of cimetidine is attributable mostly to the increased expression levels of rOCT2. PMID: 20814153
  15. results suggest that hypomagnesemia could cause dehydration and up-regulation of rOCT2, enhancing renal accumulation of CDDP and the deterioration of AKI. PMID: 19629622
