Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Mediates the Na(+)-independent high affinity transport of organic anions such as the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and rT3. Other potential substrates, such as triiodothyronine (T3), 17-beta-glucuronosyl estradiol, estrone-3-sulfate and sulfobromophthalein (BSP) are transported with much lower efficiency. May play a significant role in regulating T4 flux into and out of the brain.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Prenatal exposure to monoclonal antibody brain-specific anion transporter-1 blocks brain-specific anion transporter-1 and limits T4 influx to the brain. This impairs the cognitive function in exposed progeny in the post-natal life. PMID: 28688524
  2. This study demonstrated that reduction of the Mct8 mRNA expression in hippocampus of thyroidectomized Wistar rats. PMID: 26861177
  3. The coordinated effects of Oatp1c1, Mct8, D2 and D3 in the placental barrier may regulate both transplacental TH passage and the development of trophoblast cells during thyroid dysfunction throughout the pregnancy. PMID: 24763672
  4. The data demonstrate that OATP1c1 and MCT8 expression are regulated in a parallel manner during inflammation at the blood-brain barrier of rodents. PMID: 25594699
  5. Antibody blocking of BSAT1 during the prenatal period is followed by cognitive impairments, which are probably related to thyroxin deficiency in the nervous tissue. PMID: 24143363
  6. In the brain, BSAT1 is localized predominantly in astrocytes, but not in endothelial cells. PMID: 24143376
  7. Oatp14 plays a role in maintaining the concentration of T4 and, ultimately, T3 in the brain by transporting T4 from the circulating blood to the brain PMID: 12923172
  8. Slco1c1 is a novel organic anion transporter that is a sodium-independent exchanger that may participate in the active efflux of iodothyronines and steroid conjugates at the BBB PMID: 17667996
  9. OATP14 mRNA and protein are strongly enriched in rat cerebral microvessels but not in human microvessels. PMID: 18687783
  10. Oatp1c1 is expressed luminally and abluminally in the blood-brain barrier endothelial cell, and exhibits bidirectional transport capabilities. PMID: 18845642
  11. Oatp1c1-dependent substrate transport is a complex process involving substrate interaction with multiple binding sites and competition binding of other substrates. PMID: 19819953

Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Note=Expressed in both luminal and abluminal membranes of brain capillary endothelial cells. Localized to the apical membrane and basal surfaces of choroid plexus.
Protein Families
Organo anion transporter (TC 2.A.60) family
Tissue Specificity
Highly expressed in cerebral microvessels (at protein level). Brain-specific. Not detected in glioma cells, kidney, heart, lung or liver. Highly expressed in cerebral microvessels throughout the brain and in tanycytes of the third ventricle.
