Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
May play a role in intercellular signaling and in connecting cells with the extracellular matrix. May take part in the regulation of cell motility, growth and differentiation. Binds hyaluronic acid.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Versican localizes to the nucleus in proliferating mesenchymal cells and suggest role in mitotic spindle organization during cell division. PMID: 26395512
  2. V3 expression reprograms arterial smooth muscle cells promoting differentiated and anti-inflammatory phenotypes. PMID: 26152723
  3. A neuronal origin for versican V2 was found in C-fiber nociceptors. PMID: 25845936
  4. These results indicate that V3 expression by arterial smooth muscle cells creates a microenvironment resistant to monocyte adhesion via differentially regulating multiple signaling pathways. PMID: 24719328
  5. miR-143 specifically binds to the 3'-untranslated region of versican mRNA. PMID: 20489207
  6. Significant increases in versican mRNA occurred at 4 & 14 days after traumatic brain injury, but no changes were seen in neurocan, aggrecan, or phosphacan PMID: 19437549
  7. Overexpression of alternatively spliced V3 variant of versican alters arterial smooth muscle cell adhesion, migration, proliferation and cell shape PMID: 11807809
  8. versican is upregulated in response to CNS injury and is a product of oligodendrocyte lineage cells PMID: 11896162
  9. Axon-growth-inhibitory chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans levels are increased by 24 hr following spinal cord injury and suggest that these molecules play a role in preventing axon regeneration across acutely forming scar tissue. PMID: 12526031
  10. observations suggest that versican (V0, V1, and V3) is a matrix component of the granulosa layer throughout folliculogenesis and is enriched in remodeling matrices during ovulation PMID: 12586779
  11. Lp3/Hapln3 is involved, together with versican and hyaluronan, in the formation of the pericellular matrix of vascular smooth muscle cells. PMID: 15464361
  12. Versican and hyaluronan, which can form a large molecular complex, may play an important role in the early phase of corneal development. PMID: 16020278
  13. growth-related changes and regional differences exist in the expression of versican in TMJ discs PMID: 16187070
  14. We suggest that upregulation of versican in the infarcted myocardium may have a role in the inflammatory reaction, which mediates subsequent chemotaxis in the infarcted heart. PMID: 16311904
  15. the versican G3 domain regulates neuronal attachment, neurite outgrowth, and synaptic function of hippocampal neurons via EGFR-dependent and -independent signaling pathways PMID: 16648628
