Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Plays a role in tight junctions and adherens junctions.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Silencing tight junction protein ZO-2 alters epithelial cytoarchitecture.ZO-2 silencing increases RhoA activity through GEF-H1 recruitment to cell borders.ZO-2 silencing activates Cdc42 and triggers mitotic spindle disorientation. ZO-2 silencing increases Rac1 and cofilin activity and lamellipodia formation. PMID: 28554775
  2. SUMOylation affects the intracellular localization of ZO-2 and its regulatory role on GSK3beta and beta-catenin signaling activity. PMID: 27604867
  3. novel posttranslational modifications of ZO-2 regulate the intracellular fate of this protein. PMID: 23804652
  4. ZO-1 and ZO-2 proteins are required not only for TJ assembly but also for regulating the organization and functional activity of the apical cytoskeleton, particularly the perijunctional actomyosin ring; these activities are relevant both to cellular organization and epithelial morphogenesis. PMID: 22190737
  5. The identification of ZASP helps to unfold the complex nuclear molecular arrays that form on ZO-2 scaffolds. PMID: 20868680
  6. The canine sequence of ZO-2 displays four putative nuclear export signals (NES), two at the second PDZ domain (NES-0 and NES-1) and the rest at the guanylate kinase region (NES-2 and NES-3). PMID: 16920099
  7. ZO-2 silencing triggered: changes in the gate function of the TJ, changes in the fence function of the TJ; altered expression of TJ and adherens junction proteins, an atypical monolayer architecture. PMID: 17374535
  8. Constitutive expression in MDCK cells, GP8 endothelial cells nuclei leads to increase expression of the M2 pyruvate kinase, increased proliferative activity and in MDCK reduced intercellular junctional stability. PMID: 17973926
  9. ZO-2 inhibits cell proliferation at G0/G1 and decreases CD1 protein level. PMID: 19056685
  10. The departure of ZO-2 from the nucleus is regulated by phosphorylation at Ser369 by novel PKCepsilon. PMID: 19625451
