This Human PPM1A recombinant protein was produced in E.coli, where the gene sequence encoding Human PPM1A (1-382aa) was expressed with the N-terminal GST tag. The purity of this PPM1A protein was greater than 90% by SDS-PAGE.
PPM1A is a serine/threonine protein phosphatase, and its primary function is to remove phosphate groups from proteins, thereby regulating the activity of cellular signaling pathways. It participates in several critical biological processes by dephosphorylating proteins, including cell growth, cell differentiation, apoptosis, and cell cycle control.
PPM1A plays a role in regulating various signaling pathways. For example, it can modulate the Protein Kinase B (PKB or Akt) signaling pathway, which is important for cell survival and proliferation. Additionally, PPM1A can regulate the Nuclear Factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway, which is involved in immune responses and inflammation.
Abnormal expression or mutations in PPM1A may be associated with the development of various diseases. For instance, some studies have suggested that abnormal expression of PPM1A is linked to the onset and growth of tumors, implying its potential role in the pathogenesis of cancer. Furthermore, PPM1A may also be associated with neurological disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and several other conditions.
