Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Ligand of the opioid receptor-like receptor OPRL1. It may act as a transmitter in the brain by modulating nociceptive and locomotor behavior. May be involved in neuronal differentiation and development. When administered intracerebroventricularly, nociceptin induces hyperalgesia and decreases locomotor activity.; Blocks nociceptin action in pain transmission by inhibiting nociceptin-induced hyperalgesia and allodynia.; Has potent analgesic activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Study demonstrates that nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) activated JNK through the PLC-IP3 signaling pathway, which is coupled to Gi/o, in astrocytes of the spinal dorsal horn. The study also demonstrated that N/OFQ induced monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 release from astrocytes of the spinal cord via JNK activation. PMID: 27038234
  2. the present results suggest that the endogenous OFQ/N/NOP receptor system may modulate the development of cocaine-induced locomotor sensitization. PMID: 23524092
  3. Data suggest that nociceptin/nociceptin receptor signaling plays a role in the disease pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases. PMID: 22449384
  4. these findings may identify nociceptin as a novel paracrine mediator of the FSH effects in the regulation of spermatogenesis. PMID: 22542942
  5. MPTP increased by about 5-fold the number of neurons expressing ppN/OFQ mRNA in the pars reticulata of the substantia nigra by 24 h after treatment and the elevation remained significant for at least 7 days. PMID: 20417255
  6. Endogenous nociceptin/orphanin FQ contributes to reserpine-induced parkinsonism. PMID: 20950413
  7. N/OFQ and NOP receptors have an important role in hippocampus-dependent spatial learning and memory, probably by modulation of glutamatergic functions PMID: 19782658
  8. reduction in endogenous N/OFQ, or the lack of its receptor, causes an increase in capsaicin-induced bronchoconstriction, implying a role for the N/OFQ-NOP receptor system in the modulation of capsaicin effects PMID: 19448152
  9. This neuropeptide was tagged with a green fluorescent protein to visualize secretory vesicle dynamics in mouse neuroblastoma cells and cultures of primary hippocampus neurons. PMID: 12383346
  10. The N/OFQ receptor was seen at high levels in a subset of neurons showing large cell size and indented nucleus in the anterior hypothalamic area. PMID: 12531470
  11. The nocifensive responses were potentiated in NOP(-/-) mice PMID: 12606680
  12. Nociceptin/orphanin FQ is involved in the development of kindling and it appears to play a pro-epileptogenic role. PMID: 12858040
  13. nociceptin system negatively modulates learning and memory through the regulation of NMDA receptor function and the expression of N-CAM. PMID: 12888804
  14. NOP receptors in the substantia nigra pars reticulata, activated by endogenous N/OFQ, drive a physiologically inhibitory control on motor behavior, possibly via modulation of the nigrostriatal dopaminergic pathway. PMID: 15282268
  15. These results reveal a novel role for nociceptin and suggest that these neuropeptide systems may contribute to the regulation of neuronal function by BDNF. PMID: 16408296
  16. In rat progenitor and mouse neuroblastoma cell lines, agents that increase prepronociceptin mRNA expression also induce neurite outgrowth, suggesting a close relationship between prepronociceptin and cellular differentiation. PMID: 16935438
  17. Results establish a novel interaction between the N/OFQ and Hcrt systems in which the corticotropin-releasing factor and N/OFQ systems coordinately modulate the Hcrt neurons to regulate stress-induced analgesia. PMID: 18551194
  18. Nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) contributes to the development of obesity not only by inducing hyperphagia but also by decreasing energy expenditure. PMID: 19196798
  19. These results demonstrate the interaction between MrgC and N/OFQ-NOP receptor system in pain transmission. PMID: 19332041
