Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Behaves as a myelinotrophic and neurotrophic factor, these effects are mediated by its G-protein-coupled receptors, GPR37 and GPR37L1, undergoing ligand-mediated internalization followed by ERK phosphorylation signaling.; Saposin-A and saposin-C stimulate the hydrolysis of glucosylceramide by beta-glucosylceramidase (EC 3.2.1.45) and galactosylceramide by beta-galactosylceramidase (EC 3.2.1.46). Saposin-C apparently acts by combining with the enzyme and acidic lipid to form an activated complex, rather than by solubilizing the substrate.; Saposin-B stimulates the hydrolysis of galacto-cerebroside sulfate by arylsulfatase A (EC 3.1.6.8), GM1 gangliosides by beta-galactosidase (EC 3.2.1.23) and globotriaosylceramide by alpha-galactosidase A (EC 3.2.1.22). Saposin-B forms a solubilizing complex with the substrates of the sphingolipid hydrolases.; Saposin-D is a specific sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase activator (EC 3.1.4.12).; Saposins are specific low-molecular mass non-enzymatic proteins, they participate in the lysosomal degradation of sphingolipids, which takes place by the sequential action of specific hydrolases.

  2. Prosaposin secreted from mature neurons stimulates proliferation and maturation of immature neurons in the dentate gyrus. PMID: 24871372
  3. the alternatively spliced forms of mRNAs do not simply correspond to the precursor and intact forms of prosaposin. PMID: 24414178
  4. These findings suggest diverse functions for PSAP in the immune system. PMID: 23420452
  5. Abundant expression in the perinatal stages indicates the potential role of prosaposin in the early development of the rat brain. PMID: 21684311
  6. reconstruction of the order of internal duplications that gave rise to the four saposins by using phylogenetic tools PMID: 11734895
  7. The amount of prosaposin mRNA increased between days 14 and 45 after birth in normal retinas (rdy+), but not in the pathologic retinas (rdy-) of RCS rats. PMID: 15111580
  8. Stress, not via an increase of glucocorticoid hormone, transiently reduces hippocampal prosaposin levels. This phenomenon is followed by rapid recovery of the neurotrophin level, even when the stress stimulus persists PMID: 15132426
  9. Our results suggest that prosaposin plays a role in homeostasis in the peripheral auditory system PMID: 17156877
  10. Developmental expression of prosaposin is demonstrated within the normal rat cochlea/organ of Corti: inner hair cells and supporting cells, inner pillar cells, and synaptic region of the outer hair cells. PMID: 17167097
  11. Our results suggest that prosaposin is synthesized ubiquitously in neurons of both the central and peripheral nervous systems. PMID: 17763872
  12. Our findings indicate that the saposin B domain of prosaposin, which is the domain affected by alternative splicing, plays an important role in both neurons and microglia during neuroregeneration. PMID: 18022721
  13. Prosaposin aids survival of PC-12 cells from oxidative stress not only by reducing the phosphorylation levels of JNK and p38, but also by regulating the c-Jun/AP-1 pathway. PMID: 18706485
