Description

This recombinant monoclonal antibody is developed as a research-grade biosimilar to the reference antibody IW-601, specifically targeting MOSPD2 (Motile Sperm Domain Containing 2). MOSPD2 is a membrane-associated protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes including membrane dynamics, lipid metabolism, and intracellular trafficking. This protein contains a major sperm protein (MSP) domain and is involved in the regulation of cellular morphology and organization. MOSPD2 has been implicated in various physiological processes and is expressed across multiple tissue types, making it a protein of interest in cell biology research and potential disease mechanisms.

As a biosimilar to IW-601, this antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating MOSPD2 expression, localization, and function in various experimental contexts. It enables studies examining the role of MOSPD2 in cellular architecture, membrane remodeling, and potential contributions to disease pathology. This antibody serves as a valuable reagent for laboratories conducting fundamental research into membrane-associated proteins and their biological functions.

Usage
It is a non-therapeutic biosimilar antibody, owning the same variable region from the corresponding approved therapeutic antibody. In conclusion, it is a research-grade biosimilar antibody and expressed in mammalian cell, which can be directly used as positive controls in drug discovery or used for rapid verification of the biological functions of target protein.

Target Background

Function
Endoplasmic reticulum-anchored receptor which modulates interorganelle contacts by interacting with other organelle-bound proteins via their FFAT motif. Might have a more important role in endoplasmic reticulum and endosomes contacts. Promotes migration of primary monocytes and neutrophils, in response to various chemokines.
Gene References into Functions
  1. this study shows that silencing MOSPD2 inhibited signaling events following chemokine receptor ligation and monocyte migration induced by chemokines PMID: 28137892
Subcellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein.
Tissue Specificity
Highly expressed in CD14(+) monocytes, and at lower levels in neutrophils. Does not show significant expression in B-cells or T-cells.
