Description

The human collagen triple helix repeat-containing protein 1 (CTHRC1) ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively measure human CTHRC1 concentrations in serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. It performs well in important characteristics, including sensitivity and specificity. This assay is based on the sandwich ELISA mechanism and enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction. The solution color develops proportionally to the amount of CTHRC1 in the sample. And the intensity of the color can be measured at 450 nm via a microplate reader.

CTHRC1 is a secreted extracellular matrix (ECM) protein transiently expressed in the repair process after arterial injury and myocardial infarction, thus regulating collagen matrix deposition and cell migration and promoting tissue repair through the TGF-β signaling pathway. It is also involved in some pathophysiological processes, including increasing bone mass, preventing myelination, and reversing collagen synthesis in many tumor cells. Increased expression of CTHRC1 is associated with tumorigenesis, proliferation, invasion, and metastasis in various types of human cancer, including gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, non-small-cell lung carcinoma, and melanoma.
