Description

The product CSB-E13790h is an indirect qualitative ELISA kit developed to access the presence of human anti-respiratory syncytial virus(RSV) antibody (IgM) in serum. The enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction is also used to amplify the signal and quantify the levels of the analyte through the intensity of the colored product. The color intensity positively correlates with the amount of RSV Ab (IgM) bound in the initial step. If the O.D. value of the sample is greater than or equal to the Cutoff value, it demonstrated that the sample contains RSV Ab IgM. Otherwise, the result is negative.

RSV is the main cause of lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs) in young children worldwide. This virus generally causes mild disease but can cause severe infections in infants and elderly adults. IgM-specific antibody response was commonly observed within a few days of onset of primary RSV infection and persisted from two to ten weeks. One year after primary infection, IgM-specific antibodies against RSV disappeared. High titers of RSV-specific IgG, IgM, and IgA antibodies were detectable at five and seven days after reinfection.
