Function

Potential role in vesicular protein trafficking, mainly in the early secretory pathway. Contributes to the coupled localization of TMED2 and TMED10 in the cis-Golgi network.

Study demonstrates that transmembrane p24 trafficking protein 3 (TMED3) promotes hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) metastasis and is a potential prognostic biomarker in hepatocellular carcinoma. Study propose that TMED3 promotes HCC metastasis through IL-11/STAT3 signaling. PMID: 27901021
This genome-wide screen has identified two novel metastatic suppressors: TMED3 and SOX12, the knockdown of which increases metastatic growth after direct seeding. PMID: 24920608
