Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Description

The expression region of this recombinant Human MLANA covers amino acids 1-118. This MLANA protein is expected to have a theoretical molecular weight of 27.2 kDa. This MLANA protein is produced using e.coli expression system. Fusion of the N-terminal 6xHis-B2M tag into the MLANA encoding gene fragment was conducted, allowing for easier detection and purification of the MLANA protein in subsequent stages.

Human melanoma antigen recognized by T-Cells 1 (MLANA), also known as MART-1, is a key antigen in melanocytes and melanomas. Its main function lies in presenting epitopes to T-cells, crucial for immune responses against melanoma cells. Inversion of membrane topology results in the relocalization of the protein from a predominant Golgi/post-Golgi area to the endoplasmic reticulum. Melanoma cells expressing the protein with an inverted membrane topology are more effectively recognized by specific cytolytic T-lymphocytes than those expressing the protein in its native membrane orientation.
