Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Receptor for somatostatin-14 and -28. This receptor is coupled via pertussis toxin sensitive G proteins to inhibition of adenylyl cyclase.
Gene References into Functions
  1. results implicate beta-arrestin in the modulation of Sstr3 ciliary localization and further suggest a role for beta-arrestin in the mediation of Sstr3 ciliary signaling. PMID: 26503786
  2. Both Sstr3 (and SStr2) receptors are required for the anticonvulsant effects mediated by cortistatin-14. PMID: 24685142
  3. SSTR3 immunoreactivity increases in ApoD(-/-) mice in all major nuclei of hypothalamus, median eminence, and ependymal cells of third ventricle. PMID: 22581439
  4. Mchr1 and Sstr3 are expressed and colocalized within cilia in multiple mouse brain regions, and they form heteromers. PMID: 23029470
  5. this novel finding that Rab21 regulates SSTR3 trafficking suggests that Rab21 may play a role in trafficking of other GPCRs. PMID: 21925142
  6. somatostatin receptor 3 expression was restricted to the plasma membrane of cilia in insulin- and growth hormone-secreting cells of the mouse, differing from previously reported immunohistochemical localization in cell bodies PMID: 21383513
  7. Receptor coupling to adenylyl cyclase is disrupted upon Sstr3 C-tail deletions. PMID: 21194548
  8. From the data of this study shown that somatostatin receptor 3 is critical for object recognition memory. PMID: 20335466
  9. The effect of sst2 receptor knockout on sst3 receptor mRNA localization and binding sites throughout the brain has been determined. PMID: 11897118
  10. Expression of SSTR3, SSTR4, and SSTR5 in mouse proximal tubules complements the expression of SSTR1 and SSTR2 in collecting ducts as seen in other species. PMID: 12472768
  11. a lack of ciliary localization of somatostatin receptor type 3 (Sstr3) and melanin-concentrating hormone receptor 1 (Mchr1) in neurons from mice lacking the Bbs2 or Bbs4 gene PMID: 18334641
