This recombinant monoclonal antibody is developed as a research-grade biosimilar to reference antibody QX-013N, targeting KIT (CD117), a type III receptor tyrosine kinase. KIT plays a critical role in cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, survival, and migration. Upon binding its ligand, stem cell factor (SCF), KIT undergoes dimerization and autophosphorylation, activating downstream signaling cascades including the PI3K/AKT and MAPK pathways. KIT is essential for the development and maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells, mast cells, melanocytes, and germ cells. Dysregulation of KIT through activating mutations or overexpression is implicated in various malignancies, including gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), acute myeloid leukemia, mastocytosis, and melanoma.
As a biosimilar to QX-013N, this antibody provides researchers with a reliable tool for investigating KIT expression, localization, and function in normal and pathological conditions. It supports studies exploring KIT-mediated signaling mechanisms, stem cell biology, and oncogenic transformation, making it valuable for cancer research and developmental biology investigations.
